As someone who has to limit their gameplay due to potential injury... I'm going to say it's a reality. I am probably not a great meter since I spend around 70% of my waking time on computers for work AND entertainment.. but it is likely a reality that decreasing the necessary AMOUNT of repetitive movements would likely be a net positive for the reduction of repetitive stress injury.

I get sore hands from playing MCH when trying to solo DD lmao

The wildfire window might be incredibly fun but it doesn't lend well to prolonged sessions. I can only imagine what something as hectic as AST and DRG are like over a long enough period of time. I don't think MCH specifically should be changed, but there are plenty of jobs that have it a lot worse and I really don't think they're a net positive for the game.

I personally find it hard to keep track of AST's timers honestly. I think it's believe of they way that none of AST's systems interact with each other unlike SB and ShB did. Divination is just a CD now. Cards still work similarly to ShB but now it fuels Astrodyne which is forgettable pass two different seals.

Minor Arcana should have been deleted tbh because what it does is just "extra" for an extra button to keep track of. Not to mention placing Star so you don't lose a use.

All of this compounded somehow created an even worse opener for AST. At this point I'd rather they stop touching AST because with every expac it gets worse and worse with an even higher APM.

I do like how busy it is and how useful its kit feels but with each system being so disconnected, it's hard to naturally move from one timer to the next.

ShB you needed to get the best seal combo for Divination and then you would throw filler cards into Minor Arcana. You have Sleeve Draw to give you an extra card for the final guaranteed seal. This all worked in tandem with one another and that's why at the end of ShB, AST felt good to play.

Now it's just so disjointed and easy to forget skills that should be used.

Exactly, that's the problem. They concentrated the APM into those 2 minute windows, so you go from long stretches of not doing much, to breaking your hands trying to squeeze everything at once into your Div window, then back to nothing. Instead of just a smooth flow for the entire encounter. It's awful design.

Macros ..not ideal for savage etc.. in normal things may make things easier on your hands and nobody (short of a few strays) will care that you are not at maximum. Play comfortable kupo because in the end its your entertainment so make it fun ^_^ <3 kupo

I assume hardware plays a lot into it though. Regular mouse users use their keyboard more and more varied movements during their rotation, while mmo mouse user's input comes almost entirely from a single thumb.

If your keybinds are causing physical damage then your keybinds should probably be re-evaluated and you should probably have a doctor look at your hand. There's not a single opener in this game that is insanely demanding in terms of APM. If you wanna talk about finger breaking, try playing starcraft at even a medium skill level. This game can be played on a controller relatively easily, and even easier on a keyboard with the average APM being lower than 50. I have a bad habit of mashing my keybinds between GCD's which cranks my APM waaaay high, but in reality I could cut that in half if I wanted to and still maintain the same timing of my opener.

I quit AST half because it lost noct sect and half because it hurt my hands way too much to play. I'm glad SGE is significantly lower apm by comparison.

I'd honestly just lean on the don't play it side of the argument. Or figure out a different way to play it. Getting a 12 button mouse, swapping over to controller to learn how to play over there. There are options to overcome it if one is deadset on playing a high APM class. You'll just have to adjust to the game rather than waiting for the game to adjust to you. Because, as some people have said in this thread, the high rate of actions is a huge positive to some players.
