    I agree that they could get a lot of the content in the game, not just savage but even dungeons and remove the telegraphs, increase the damage of the enemies and add an enrage and allow you to enable this difficulty. I wish that they would because it seems like a quick and easy way to create a lot more content. For some reason this doesn't seem like something they want to do or maybe the idea never reached them.

    As far as harder dungeons go, that was a thing in ARR and then people mass complained about it and now they're dumbed down. Pharos Sirius is a classic example of one that was referenced.

    That is why they should be optional like savage and extreme are. The story versions should still be easy.

    Since they're creating a trust option for MSQ content they can even create an ultra-easy/visual novel mode for that, so that the DF version isn't so constrained by having to cater for all and sundry.

    The problem with Pharos was that it was easy for people to break the eggs and the dmg buff the bird got was ramped up far too quickly for anyone to realise ( on the first try) what was going on . PS was a great dungeon and im gutted that the players at large complained on an optional dungeon being "hard" to the point they didnt make all post MSQ optional dungeons harder/trickier than the regular MSQ content after that.

    The thing is ppl didn't mass complain. A handful of players were very loud and very vocal about it, so much so that SE just starting nerfing everything thinking it was popular opinion, because at that point if XIV failed, the company was toast and they were doing as much as they could to appease their audience. So, players could come in, be handed everything for barely any effort and the precedent was made and then the newer players started expecting it too and it just snowballed from there. Now it's to the point that if you suggest something be added that has even a remote amount of difficulty they come in hordes to the forums to complain, making SE dumb things down yet again, rinse and repeat.

    You don't need numbers, you just need to be able to whine the loudest.

    I don't think it's as bad here as on some other sites, like kizuya mentioned. Go on to reddit, ask for more/a broader variety of harder content and you'll be swiftly informed by some of the people camping the threads there that this game isn't for "hardcore raiders" and that you're fighting a lost cause, and to get out the way of their visual novel in essence. Seen that happen a few times now.

    I'm curious to see what these Criterion dungeons will be and whether they're their answer for challenging dungeon content, since they intended to address that request. I do wonder sometimes how they actually gauge consumer opinion, because there's lots of ways to go about it and simply restricting oneself to twitter or reddit for it is cutting out a good chunk of opinions.
