    Doubt about editions

    Hi everyone ☺️

Some weeks ago I purchased the basic edition, just ARR, for 10 euros. Now if I want to continue the game, should I have to purchase the complete edition for 40? I mean, I already bought a "part" of the complete edition, but it seems that I have to get it complete, right? It seems like I have lost 10 euros haha

Also, there would be no impact in my character, right? I mean, if I get the complete edition, I would login there with my account and I would keep everything as in the basic edition, right?

Just a couple of questions regarding other topics:

-for positional atacks, from gear or flank, you have to be in that position at the begining of the atack or when you execute it? For example, there is some time from the moment that you click some skill until it is delivered, and I dont know when should be in position, when an enemy is moving of course.

-Im just doing main quest, and job ones, but im always overleved, like 7 or 8 levels over the main quest so everything is easy so far, would it be like that forever? In that case would make more sense to use 2 jobs at the same time so I use one job in each quest splitting the exp?

-after a dungeon, I just have the option to recommend some players, but never all of them, why is that?

-how do the game decide which character gets the loot?

    Thank you all

You just need to buy Endwalker.
    Base + Endwalker = Complete

I'm not too sure about the very first part.

There's be no impact on your character besides getting access to other expansions (Including newer classes that are unlocked in older areas)

For positional attacks, you need to be in the position when you go to use that skill. So be on the butt when you need to attack the butt, and so forth.

Just focus on the MSQ ones (With the FFXIV icon for the quest bubbles). You'll be overleveld for a good bit, since the original EXP was a bit of a slog, and you had to get some additional EXP elsewhere originally, but this way you can just focus on the main quests only, and then worry about sidequests for your other class(es)

Also for 6.0, I actually dual leveled White Mage and Paladin from 80-90.

But there's also a thing called the armoury bonus for combat EXP, where classes under your highest level combat class get a huge EXP bonus (Even without the resting EXP bonus that you get from logging out in towns), so other classes will level up pretty quickly

Other question: playing as a monk, is it worthy to charge chakra during combat? Since it takes 5 "meditation" actions to fill the crakra and be able to use it in an atack...it seems better to just use other skill, right? The cooldown is too high

It will basically upgrade your account, unlocking more content and higher levels, and doesn't change or delete anything you have already progressed.

Just a couple of questions regarding other topics:

-for positional atacks, from gear or flank, you have to be in that position at the begining of the atack or when you execute it? Yes, you need to be in position to get the benefit for the attack, before you attack. You can move out as your attack is happening.

-Im just doing main quest, and job ones, but im always overleved, like 7 or 8 levels over the main quest so everything is easy so far, would it be like that forever? In that case would make more sense to use 2 jobs at the same time so I use one job in each quest splitting the exp?
Generally with all the content that is needed to be cleared before you can get into the Heavensward expansion, you will be over-leveled pretty much through ARR and HW.
Once you get into the Stormblood expansion, you can run into instances of being under-leveled for the MSQ progress, when that happens, just do side quests, roulettes, and FATEs to catch up.

-after a dungeon, I just have the option to recommend some players, but never all of them, why is that?
You get only one commendation to give per duty, but you can receive as many commendations per players in the party, with the exception of any party members that you had formed a "pre-made" party with.
The reason is there is a sought-after achievement for having a fairly large amount of commendations (among other requirements), so if there was the ability for one player to dole out 3~7 commendations per duty, that achievement would be much more trivial to get.

-how do the game decide which character gets the loot?
There are a few types of ways loot is distributed in the game.
One is by once loot is "received" from a chest or such, if the party settings are as such, the party members "roll" for the loot by Need, Greed, or Pass. For Need, the players who rolled such = Highest roll gets the loot, the restriction is that the player must be actually use the loot (as in a Tank can't "Need" caster robe, but any player can "Need" a non-unique minion item). Greed = all players who roll Greed have a chance to get the item, unless a player had rolled Need, the highest roll wins it. Pass = You pass on the roll and give up your chance to get the item.
If the party setting are not set to the default Need/Greed/Pass, then the loot from a chest goes to whoever opened the chest.
Some duties also reward one piece of random loot that is for your current job to each player in the party, the item is dropped directly into your Inventory (if you change your character settings to have new gear placed in Inventory instead of Armory)
Almost always, the loot from chests is completely random for the items in that chest's loot pool, so it can happen that the chest drops items that you can't use or that you already have, making it seem like a pointless reward.

If you have a chance either outside of combat or in combat but outside of attack/positional ranges (like when dodging target attack markers or catching up to melee range), then charge up.
If you are in combat and in attack/positional range, try and balance your DPS uptime to weaving in a charge, one at a time.

Too add to this, if someone leaves the dungeon just after the final boss dies, they are removed from being commended. You can only commend people that are still in the instance with you.

This is effectively the cost of a 1 month subscription fee and even gives you 1 month of subscription. Think of this as your first subscription payment and you have to pay this every month that you want to play now.

You can either buy Complete, or Starter+EW. Any other combination could be wasting money unless there is a deal on the complete edition that makes it cheaper than EW.

There is no impact on your character except what classes it can unlock and which expansions you can access. Without having bought EW you wouldn't be able to progress beyond a certain quest and that means you couldn't access level 61 and higher content/areas.

For positional attacks, they are all weaponskills so they execute immediately unlike your abilities. Abilities have no positionals though.

It doesn't matter if you overlevel but it has no benefit except against open world enemies because you can't access content above the level of your main scenario quest. You don't need to worry about using it to level other classes because they are easy to level by other means, but it's up to you.

After a dungeon you can just commend who you thought did the best. Your definition of best may vary from another person's. Who was best at being nice? Who was best in skill? Who provided the most guidance? Who did something spectacular or useful or prevented a wipe? If you don't know you can just choose a random person or nobody at all.

Loot is decided by a Greed roll 1-99 and the person who rolls highest gets it. If you are the class who that gear is meant for, you can participate in a separate Need roll which happens first and the players who Greed will only get it if nobody Needed it.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."
