attempting to chase the savage race is an exercise in futility, this content is designed for static groups for the first 3 months.
- you cannot learn the fights properly because you cannot even set foot into the next fight without forfeiting the rewards for previous floors, meaning the best strategy is to have a group of 7 other people who are at the same progression level.
- not having a static distributing the loot means you miss out on coffers from clears, not to mention random 1/2 chest clears
- you are only expected to gear up 1 job to BiS within 8-16 weeks and you cannot gear up other jobs in the meantime, meaning it's expected for you to be in a group of 8 people with set jobs
- parsing is a mess, you're fighting against loot rng, week 2 tuesday morning parses are all 99s because they are competing against previous week's undergeared parses, meanwhile week 7/8 even with perfect play you will parse a 50 at most
wait until they remove the weekly caps. then it will be worth doing savage
The game advertises that you can play more than 1 job. The fact that it can take months, 4-5+ to gear ONE job is just false.
I play ultimate and since they gear lock the fights (along with NEEDING to do savage), so yeah I'm in a rush.
The upgrades are also ridiculously expensive:
It only drops 1 upgrade in 2 and 2 (2 body, 1 weapon) in 3. You don't get weapon tokens, but books. The upgrades are 4?? So you need to do 1 month just to upgrade 1 slot?? Turn 4 everything is 8 books. 8 for chest and 8 for weapon.
Not to mention as its don't ask, don't tell, but since the devs technically allow it (dislike), the community has a parse problem so every week you have nothing, that's every clear your rating goes down because you have no gear.
People aren't even scared anymore. They literally place it in pf. Calling it "barse"
I want to play at least a trinity, but the next tier will be out by the time I even get bis on one job. Maybe. .
I just wish lockouts and limiters were by job. The multi-job aspect of the game becomes a detriment if you wanna progress on more than one thing.
The real problem is that we've had all these issues since ARR. Literally nothing is improving... unless you want to go back and do ARR MSQ, I guess.
There's six fights for the entire end game, you don't think people want to repeat it?Are you in a rush or something?

It's beyond me that people are arguing that BiS is an unnecessary luxury.
Spoiler alert: This is a video game. Everything is an unnecessary luxury.
Uh how is that false? Do a job get locked out unless you acquire all the BiS gear for it? They said you can play all jobs, not that you can gear all of them at the same time.
Uh ... that's a YOU problem. If you care about some rating to impress a bunch of people who you would never even talked to in your life, that's not the Dev's fault. Have you considered about ... not caring about the parse? It would at least make some sense if such a rating is an ingame thing, but the fact you're accusing the game of something due to the fact you care about some third party app does is a huge reach of argument. Not to mention as its don't ask, don't tell, but since the devs technically allow it (dislike), the community has a parse problem so every week you have nothing, that's every clear your rating goes down because you have no gear.
The game allows you to have the gear to clear the content in Week 1, which is already more generous than most MMO that would actually gate your progress until you acquire a certain amount of gears.

Why release savage then? it's just unnecessary right? Why even play the video game? Just go outside and play in the sand like I did as a kid, since video games are a luxury and we should never discuss improving them in any way.
As someone who only plays Savage in PF, I understand what you mean.
I would like to be able to play not just Summoner (which I started to gear at the beginning) but my dancer or my scholar too. I cannot gear all 3 at the same time unfortunately.
However, if you have a Static, this does not really matter, as the minimum item level for any content is achievable very easily as it is iLevel 580 for P4S. Probably your static will not care if you don't have higher level.
However, PF often sets iLevel limitation to overcome the lack of cohesion that a normal static has. This way even with a few death all dps / heal checks can be met.
On the other hand, there is nothing rushing me to level my other 2 jobs that I want to play. I just started finally adding some levels to my Dancer. It is slow, but it is not too slow. I just wish red books could be used for more than just accessories...
Statics often use parses to screen whether someone can join or not. Some won't even trial someone if their parses are not good enough regardless of why they're low.Uh ... that's a YOU problem. Not for Ultimate. Some people would like to have some wiggle room with their jobs while looking for an Ultimate static, to be able to fill a part of the trinity that a certain static might need, but the game forces them to commit to a given role even in a static environment. By the time an Ultimate comes out, it's really silly that it's possible for them to not even have one job of each part of the trinity geared for it.
im baby
