yes but the lottery system is shaping up to be worse than the first come first serve system, with players only able to enter 1 lottery per week, and only 1 plot per lottery, meaning past week 1 99.99% of players will never, ever be able to acquire a large house

Better than the old system where that percentage occurred within a few hours. The current system is just as bad because now you are paying 15 a month to stand in front of a placard and not play the game. At this point, who cares? Let them try something new. Better than running Placard EX against auto clickers.

at least previously if you got in somehow, by buying a small house, you could make your way up to medium and large by using relocation

Wouldnt say its worse because at least now you dont have to camp god knows how many hours for it to be left up to luck and rng anyhow. Besides that not sure about you but dont think i have ever seen a large plot for sale so being as how its up to whoever owns if they vacate even wiyh the old system 99.99% of the players wont ever get a large house. At least with ishgard "x" amount of people will become new homeowners not just new large homeowners. Now personally when isgard goes live it would be nice since all the wards are new it would be nice if rather then bidding on one spacific plot your actually bidding on a pool. Like how the small houses are broken up into different cost brackets. So if your willing to pay the higher end small any of the plots that qualify as that you have a chance to win.

Some plots are still going to be first come first served, they just haven't said what the split is yet:

The lottery system can be enabled for individual plots of land, and our current plans are to have a higher percentage of plots available through the lottery system. The development team is still debating how many plots will be available through the current first come, first served system and we’d like to keep an eye on players’ feedback as we finalize our decision for Patch 6.1.
