Right, because having your life threatened is obviously a justified behavior by how you voiced some concerns about a game you loved.
Your zeal reaches insanity levels, seriously, I am concerned about your mental health.
If you see something that needs work then people are under no obligation to roll over and agree with you. This community that is critical of work is seemingly under the impression that all criticisms are homogenous between individuals, it's as simple as that. Nobody is obligated to roll over, and arguably given the precedent there's plenty of people that cannot handle criticism despite being critical themselves. If you respond in kind to these people with "White Knight", "Toxic Positivity" or "Fanboy" then you're essentially just turning into the very thing you're attacking with those comments.Trying to shut down peoples arguments by just simplifying it is a bit rude. Also don’t see how those things correlate. Typically toxic positivity is used towards people who continuously defend something that other people find needs work. I think we’ve seen this especially with this community where certain people have given a form of criticism for the game, and the community can’t handle it and marks them off as trolls, how they’re so wrong, or even resorting to death threats. Look at the scottzone situation for that.
People have their own criticisms, everyone does, and nobody is obligated to agree with each other on the matter. Get over it. If you want to cry out people for point out trolls then simply put this forum itself is to blame for the culture that it effectively harbours wherein genuine topics are undermined simply because of who the poster is and their past history with post. If they're known for being a troll then any thread they make will get marked off as troll, regardless of the validity their points might have. This is called reaping what you sow. - In this regard take more consideration into your caricature in the future if you don't want the community to label you as such.
There's an incredible amount of people on this topic that seemingly think they can engage in the self-same behaviour that they're noted for criticising others about; without anyone actually taking notice, unfortunately that is not the case. People are going to disagree with you, your opinions or your criticisms.

lol are you ok bro
i'm ngl if she wanted to talk more generally it wasn't totally clear in her og post:
also it's a huge assumption to say that people who don't want to hear anything negative - it doesn't mean they never want or can't hear anything negative in their life lmao, or that they're "going to crumble" when they do but it's trivializing her concerns when they're told that if people respond that way it's probably bcus they don't want to hear it? it's just a bit susIt’s not just 14, although it’s quite common in people in the game - when hearing anything negative they will either immediately change the subject or reply with some patronising “just cheer up” kinda comment.
Imo it’s important to experience negativity in life and we all do at some point and it helps us deal with tough situations which we will all face at some point.
I wonder about these people who refuse to let any negativity in their life. What happens when it inevitably does happen, they must crumble.
other than that she legit just stated very obvious things lmao ofc every single person deals with hardships and it helps us and that people shouldn't outright dismiss negative topics. the problem was her last statement which was what inspired the reply, at least i'm p sure because that's wildly generalizing.
it's really not that deep lmao you're treating it like it's some dissertation when all his point really boils down to is: ain't no one asked for that in game
anyways i'm not really mad at her (or you) or anything like that, who cares I come to the forum to post dumb stuff. I don't really think anything offensive was said??? I'm not going to speak for others I'm not offended it was just a weird comment to say lol. and yeah Icethorne's initial reply to it did come off as a bit aggressive/snarky and I can see why you had a problem with that, imo I just think you took what he said in the complete wrong way + your posts give off boomer vibes so I couldn't help myself. sorry bro, please forgive, no hard feelings I promise![]()
& sorry Thoosa fam your post is forever controversial :/
Where did i state people need to roll over? Please don’t insinuate things it just makes you look bad. My point is people marking off any criticism or anyone they don’t like as a troll to shut down any argument. It’s horrible for discussion and debate and downright childish. Disagreement is fine, it’s people trying to shut down any form of criticism in the first place that’s the problem and that’s what i’m critiquing. Especially when someone basically saying death threats are consequences working as intended. Utterly disgusting. If you see something that needs work then people are under no obligation to roll over and agree with you. Very well put.Let me tell you something that someone told me and it has helped me a lot in life, it's simple and elegant: "You can't change people no matter how hard you try". This is even truer online with anonymity and a game that is played by kids that haven't developed critical conscience.
I am pushing 37 so I came from an era where people weren't "toxic", they were harsh, they wouldn't smile at your face to stab you in the back and they wouldn't tip toe around your feelings, you're feeling hurt about how kids were mean to you online? Block them or turn off the computer, logic, right?
I'd rather have that 100x than fake sympathy with zero actual empathy. This age of wokeness and tolerance has created the most intolerant entitled brats since this planet harbored human life and you're either on board or you get cancelled. I appreciate your magnanimous zeal but for the sake of your sanity, apathy is the way to go. Do you, and let the others do them, no matter how ignorant you think they are doing it.
-- “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”
Let them appreciate the good times, strong men will be needed soon.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:

Good thing that didn't occur. But thanks. The threats of violence that I am guessing I will have to find earlier in the thread where this was discussed have zippo to do with the metaphor.
