Something needs to be done about the state of Gil in FF14

The people above who are all saying that gil is easy to obtain probably think 1M a day is some big number LOL

Back in Heavensward/Stormblood you could make 600M in a week for Savage tiers.

Ironworks crafter set and Heavy Metal crafted set were going for like 1-3M per piece during content drought. Compare that to what we have now, the equivalent of which is 30k crafted rings.

So yeah, gil has gotten harder to obtain.

The people who are shaming you, OP, are probably not that good at making gil in the first place, don't worry.

OP was speaking about 100k gils. You are speaking about millions/hundreds of millions...
Getting dozens of millions might be harder than it was before.
Getting a couple hundred ks/mils is still quite easy.
But we also have things like the increase of teleport costs, which I am sure can impact a lot of casual players who do not bother doing any hunts. etc.

Gil is too hard to obtain because selling items on the market is only something that can be done by people who are online the most amount of time. Selling anything is nearly impossible if you are not on at least 8 hours a day, or undercut to such an extreme severity that the people (or bots I honestly dont know) are forced to buy your item because they will make back their money. I have had the same 30-40 items on the market for weeks, and I do check for undercuts several times a day, but its not enough.

This is over-exaggerated and having 30-40 same items if it's not some high volume basic resource then it's a mistake to list like that.

Even as a combat job only you can diversify and list various resources and re-list those that sell and start farming more of those that sell better. Relying on one income is bad, and materia is also not so "easy" to farm. And don't be fixated on end-game only.

The gil given for queing as an adventurer in need has been low since the system came out if you ask me.

20k per instance on average. Leveling tank/healers via roulette/instance spam is quite gil positive for me.

You don't even need gil for much in this game lol

My overall impression has been that crafters are good for making money. Even low level crafting can net you some profit if you find some niches, and there are so many items in the game you're bound to find something. If nothing else you can craft levequest items. Those sell for 25k-100k on my server, often cost nearly no mats, and there's not that many of them on the board so you won't see undercutting.

300k from a treasure map feels very minscule when people are charging 500million for a large house.
Most people with 'real' money obtained it by selling land or are a long term player that has sat on gold from the early days when crafting made bank.

Map parties are a good way to get pocket change but no method is good if 100mil is your desired savings goal.

I think the problem with saying gil making is hard or easy is how vague the context is. It'd be way more helpful to know what the desired amount of gil you wish to save up for is. It's easy to say that gil making is easy if you only want 10mil. It's a whole different story if you're trying to go for the 100mil or higher goals. Especially if you're buying a 999mil large Fc on Balmung.

Everyone values gil differently too so when people come in here saying gil is easy, they probably have a different way of earning it that doesn't work for others. What's easy to you is not easy for everyone.

Online for about an hour every day most nights and pull in an easy 150k-200k every day, and that's a low estimate. You are posting the wrong stuff or posting oversaturated items. I could make vastly more if I was on for more than just an hour or two.

the good thing about this game is you dont need gil, you can farm everything by yourself if needed. the only really reason to try to get gil is because of buying a house or for teleporting.
