I'm learning to make chicken nuggies today, but my breading came out super bland. Anyone have a favourite seasoning blend they can drop on me?

To spice the breading, I use either Old Bay or salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken nuggets in italian dressing for around 20 minutes.

Never been a fan of batter, to the point that I'd actively avoid my mother's battered chicken. Or maybe she was just bad at cooking those.

I guess it all depends if LisSquid is deep frying the nuggets or pan frying them. If she's deep frying them, definitely. The oil cooks the batter evenly.

But, if she's cooking them in a pan, I'd stick with breading.

When I make fried or breaded and baked foods I like to change things up every once in a while and use things like Corn Flakes (for a sweet coating) or Doritos for the different flavor options. Since breading has a lot of no-flavor starch in it and tends to be a thin layer, you need to increase the amount of seasoning to a level that we normally wouldn't use on other foods.

If you live in the US, Old Bay or one of the Cajun seasonings work well, as does Taco/Chili seasoning packs when mixed in the flour/starch.



To respond to the OP; having followed the Show Your Roe thread for a while and seeing all the openly homosexual men playing them I was curious to see if the male identifying LGBT community had started flocking to male Viera. Their super bishoujo aesthetic seemed perfect for the men who prefer the less macho physique or have partners (in-game and/or RL) who prefer it. It seems that's the case to some degree.

We also need to understand the Japanese thoughts on masculinity differ quite a bit from the Western ideal. Slender is considered equally, if not more, masculine than bulky muscular guys and a more fine-featured face with "emo" hair is considered really cool. Just look at the male hosts and performance art idols. It's not surprising to me that a good portion of the JP female player base would switch to male Viera since their aesthetic hits these traits hard.

As for the game drawing more "feminine" players than Western games, I disagree. What I see is XIV draws and retains less aggressive players due to the game's focus on single player story and general lack of competitive modes of play. While some people here in the West consider aggression a masculine trait, and the lack thereof as feminine, open aggression and antagonism isn't masculine; is assholish behavior.

In my experience, they tend to burn really easily on a pan. The chicken brand also matters taste wise apparently, so it could be bad because the chicken itself was bad rather than the batter itself?

I prefer grilled food anyways.
