I'm surprised people aren't more wary of eastern MMOs, for the most part they're just all flash, no substance, designed to make a quick buck. FFXIV is a rare exception because it was modeled after western MMOs, because Yoshi-P loves World of Warcraft. It's a shame, honestly. People get all sorts of excited when a new MMO is announced and releases, hoping it'll have something that others do not. The demand is always there. It's just that no one really has the guts to innovate in any significant way. MMOs are expensive to make and maintain so I get it. It's a huge gamble that usually doesn't pay off.
