Why did they put the story in the raid if they didn't expect people to be watching it?The reality is that both sides of the issue are circumstantially reasonable, and there isn't a simple good guy bad guy dichotomy to it. Expecting a group of 20+ people to wait for someone to finish watching a video game cutscene seems unreasonable to some, especially if they have limited time.
Why don't they force everyone to watch the cutscenes? Why don't they prevent the boss from being attacked while people are completing their cutscenes? Why do they offer to teleport players to the arena automatically shortly after combat has begun?
Like I said, it can easily go either way, which is why making moral judgements around the issue just looks like grandstanding.
I'd understand your point of view more if the story sequence of the Alliance Raids didn't consist of 10 seconds of story anything and then 40 seconds of look at this cool boss spawn cinematic we have.Because the newbie who joins the fight halfway will misss half of the fight. What are you missing in thos 2 mins of waiting? It's not like you're chained there unable to move or loss elsewhere until you start the fight, you know.
Also, you only get a first run once ever.
I never had a problem waiting, good time to check for messages and stuff too. I also don't have a tickling timebomb attached to me that explodes if I pause a minute, but that mgith be just me.
Can be a little bit confusing to appear in the middle of the fight and probably a player should spawn with like 6s of invu or something (perhaps this is already a thing?). Other than that, some cutscenes should just not be there if I'm honest. Cool if people wait, not a big deal if they don't if you ask me.
You know, I'd respect the opinion of pro-'waiting for cutscenes' people more if they didn't all end up reacting like this^ if even one person, out of 24 people, is in a cutscene when a boss is pulled.
After a ready check where 23 other people are ready to fight, at that. And not even bothering to mention a cutscene, either!
Well that part is because it used to not do that, so anyone watching a cutscene or just not able to rush in with the others right away would get locked out of the fight entirely.
Because they expect you to have manners and wait when you see a new player and the game dose infact tell you when you have a new player.. they let you skip incase you've already seen it and didn't know about auto skip option. They teleport you to the boss incase someone pulls before everyone is ready.. they didn't use to do that you missed the 15sec you missed the boss. Why don't they force everyone to watch the cutscenes? Why don't they prevent the boss from being attacked while people are completing their cutscenes? Why do they offer to teleport players to the arena automatically shortly after combat has begun?

If your in a party of your own making sure pull asap.. but if your in a roulette with a notice that says a new person is here.. just wait.. you only get one first impression and it's quite rude to ruin someone else's.
It dosnt.. infact if you get caught in the cutscene where the barrier spawns it will kill you when it locks and leave you on the outside of the fight and end your cutscene when you die.Can be a little bit confusing to appear in the middle of the fight and probably a player should spawn with like 6s of invu or something (perhaps this is already a thing?).
