You're already compensated for it with tomes and wondrous tails retries, just wait for them and don't be that guy.1 person doesn't get to hold up 23 other people in Crystal Tower, same applies for other raids that are years old. You can watch the cutscene and remain invulnerable as long as you do not exit out early, and aren't missing much in later raids because the last actual pre-final boss cutscene is an unskipable transition.
Puppet's Bunker is already a long headache of a raid so I cannot blame anyone who pulls the last boss early, seeing as by that point everyone is desperate to just get out of there.
Oh boy, it's been at least a week since this topic came up again.
I maintain my opinion that bosses should be locked until everyone's out of the cutscene, but unless the game enforces it, you're never gonna convince everyone to wait.
Unfortunately, expecting players to behave like humans online is unrealistic.
Forcing cutscenes in the MSQ is probably the correct decision, but generally waiting in alliance raids for cutscene watchers just isn't going to happen. The good news is that there's not actually any penalty for joining a fight in progress once you get out of the cutscene (beyond your opener being scuffed and your rotation being out of sync with the fight that first time).
It's just not that big of a deal, honestly.
Remember when eos could pull the boss? Those were the days.
Prae takes about 9 minutes to do, and about 35 minutes of cutscenes, thats why prae is the way it is now. The raids are about 20 minutes to do and 1-2 minutes of cutscenes. If you want to want the cutscenes, watch the cutscenes. The community norm since forever, its keep going unless its going to cause a raid/party wipe. Thats never going to change. Your more than welcome to ask for them to wait, but like hunts they don't have to so mileage may vary. The real problem with that idea is that other players just bully the person watching cutscenes into skipping so they can continue. That's why Praetorium is now the way it is. What I'm curious about is why players are very consistent with respecting new players watching the story in all other content but suddenly stop caring in Alliance raids.
You're not wrong, but it's an opportunity to crack jokes and interact with the rest of your raid not watching the cutscene. At least, that's what people used to do, nowadays they just pull and never wait. I definitely think it's a big mistake for them to put in cutscenes of such length, they really should be, at best, 10-20 seconds and just put the longer scenes after the raid ends. It's a problem with the Nier raids, especially with the intermission cutscenes that are unskippable on top of that. They've sort of gone backwards in that regard since ShB after improving the mistakes of ARR and I don't really understand why. I mean the intermission cutscenes can be cool, the first time, but after that it becomes annoying in certain instances, especially farming mounts in old extremes with such cutscenes. But that's the reality for some of the content and there's nothing they can do it about it save for avoiding doing it that way in the future, and I just accept that going in that I'm gonna have to potentially wait longer than usual at the final boss.
I wait in dungeons, I dont wait in alliance raids, 3 people waiting is something i can agree to (dungeons bosses are frequently much shorter aswell). 23 people waiting for that one guy is not something I can get behind. You're missing literally nothing by joining in a few seconds late. Just watch your cutscene and join in later, that cant be that much of a slight to even think more than 2 seconds about it. No one cares about aligning buff windows with each other in an alliance raid of all things.
This isn't new. It's been this way since HW
Maybe the real question is why alliance fights are so stupidly easy that they go into 2nd phase after only 1-2mins?
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
And then the rest of the party just bullies the one person watching cutscenes into skipping and then we have another Praetorium situation.
