    I was going to wait until I was BiS before trying it myself to give myself every possible advantage, I solo'd Queztacoatl way back in 5.0 after similar grievances about DRK sustain. That was just a dungeon boss though.

    But if someone gets to solo DRK P1N before I can get full i600, I wish them luck, otherwise that's my pre-6.1 goal if it's possible at all.

    For funzies, it looks like you only need 3,005 DPS to beat the 90 minute instance timer.

    So estimating a BIS focusing Soul Eater for the 100 per gcd healing while still hitting OGCD for damage and assuming no wasted TBNs, looks like it'll be a matter of if your HP can last about 58 minutes or so.

    Oh the damage intake is there. Self healing it's absolutely useless in savage the majority of the time because stuff hits so hard you heal maybe one auto on warrior. Unless the "savage" one is talking about is p1s and p2s when someone outgears the living hell out of it like most people do after the first month.

    Damage intake is only missing in inconsequential content. While yes, a group consisting of all warriors was able to clear a single savage, it took an inordinately long time, required ludicrous amounts of skill and luck, and came close to ending more than a few times. They also outgeared the content.

    "Inconsequential" seems a bit.. arrogant. The game should be enjoyable in all content, not just in the niche that is savage raiding. (because yes it is a niche)

    The game is balanced with endgame challenge in mind yes, but if you go from no-brain to "high skill" without any middle ground, it's just not fun.

    Tanks being able to self-sustain is not preventing other jobs from getting nuked when they mess up mechanics in dungeons and normals, and most of us aren't going to waste our time soloing a dungeon boss regardless of whether or not we can. The objective of each dungeon, regardless of your skill level, is to complete it as quickly as possible. One dude soloing a boss just because he can is not conducive to that.

    It's not new, at any rate. WAR and PLD could solo bosses left, right, and center in Stormblood and ShB if they so chose.

    Well then enjoy NM and if you find nm damage and mechanics are too low for you, go in savage.

    idk why you are complaining, NM has always been a babysit mode where people can fail or learn raid and mechanics, it is not a content you actually do if you're in seek of real challenge (and savage is not as niche as you think, even the most casual player go into savage raid nowadays)

    It's not because "it's always been the case" that it's not an issue. there is a balance to strike here.
    Savage comes with a bunch of annoying stuff, finding PUG that stick, or being restrained to specific times by a static. This can be fun to some, personnaly this is just a hassle. I don't want to have to choose between a snoozefest and the hardest content in the game.
