    Or tanks and trench coats.
And melee flopping between plate and cloth.
And ninjas being drowned in robes.

Seriously, just take a look at the list i added on the front page (and it's not even half the complete list), the aesthetical restrictions are all over the place.

And again, we are not talking about removing glamour restrictions for weapons.
If you walk around Limsa for 10 seconds all of their BS excuses for locking things fly out the window. And the one about "we kept this terrible system because other FF games have it" actually makes me nerdrage.

I hate that so many bad things in this game is because FF has always done it that way. FF is not just another FF game, it's an MMO and that brings with it a lot of people who aren't FF fanboys.

While I'm ranting here, I effing hate that everything seems to be a reference to a previous FF game. How about some original stuff.

The worst offence still comes to casters.

So many fabulous designs both cloth and plate for the various magicians and sorcerers in final fantasy, but because black mage wears a black robe and pointy hat, every caster gear needs to be a black robe...

I main as a crafter and gatherer so I'd love to be able to wear class specifics from one class to another. The WVR top hat and twin tailed suit, for example, is one of my favourites but to only be able to wear it on one class is sad. I do the time to earn and craft suits like that, I should be able to wear them whenever I please. Even if the restriction is just lessened to class/job category, like any DoH can glamour any DoH gear they have the level for, same for any DoL for any DoL, mage gear for mages, melee gear for melee fighters, that would still be really nice. There's already a lot of gear that can cross class in that sort of category system so glamours should be able to easily work the same way. Ideally, though, I'd love it if you could glamour anything you've unlocked.

I feel like the same 'role' would be an acceptable compromise. So Physical Ranged, Pure Healer, Shield Healer, Tanks, melee DPS, Caster DPS. The Etoile set's perfect for MCH, but it being restricted to DNC only is both a loss and a waste of good resources.

Imagine giving the reaper avatar black robes then locking the class itself to hard armor sets. I actually hate it. Just let me live my edgy goth life.

Dancer is the most cursed for sure. Would you like to be a dancing cowboy with bullets strapped to your butt? No? Tough.

For players who have played other Final Fantasy titles, they’ll easily recognize these gear designs as a way to identify a particular job. You wouldn’t want to see someone carrying an axe casting black magic. You’d wonder: What the hell kind of game is this?" - Yoshi P
And I absolutely agree-- if you want to look like a certain job class, then play the job class.

If you're too lazy to play the job so you get the glam you desire, then go browse the Mog Station and look for some glam alternatives.

    Period.
Here we go again with the strawman arguments.

Nobody in this thread has mentioned removing weapon restrictions, so your example with Yoshi-P is really out of place. Not just that, but AFAIK the last time he talked about that was during Heavensward. We had 7 less jobs back then. Things change.

You're also really going to pretend that ROLE sets define the look of a job ? How often does an Aiming set manage to look good on both DNC and MCH? What if a GNB wants to use a striking chest piece because it simply fits them more ? Sometimes, a minor thing like having another role's boots or gloves is enough.

Also, you're implying that Square think that healers and tanks are similar because they sometimes share gear ? A Reaper that uses the Neo-Ishgardian set of Maiming looks like a Tank only because the set shares the same look between Fending and Maiming ? I could give you a ton of examples, but that's really past the point.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure it's not just me - I'd enjoy certain jobs more if I could swap certain pieces for other roles' gear.

God forbid you would want to make a Reaper glam with a Scouting chest piece. We can't have such annihilation of immersion in our jrpg. If you want your Reaper to look more like the develepers intended, you should go play Ninja /s

    Yes please.

I will say I'd also want crafters to be able to glam each other's sets. There's not nearly enough inventory space or glam plates for me to ever justify keeping any of those sets for glamour when they're all one class only, and unlike combat classes I don't have one "main" crafter, and every single crafter is otherwise wearing the exact same gear so glamming one in class unique gear means glamming none of the others. They're also way more time consuming to get and replace than most of the combat artifact gear.

Absolutely, the continuation is obsolete if a tank can come to the raid with hoodie, jeans and some sick sneakers a healer might as well show up in plate armor.
