Intra-city travel

How about we just replace all travel with menus?

I personally don't have a problem with it, but I can see why this bothers some. What's the point of having an environment if we can just be anywhere we want?

I think it's mostly people complaining for the sake of complaining. Every single patch has had this, and yet people still remain alive. This community needs to grasp the concept that Final Fantasy XIV is a game you play for fun.

i only play so i can rage quit and break multiple tv's and pc's the holes in the walls gives the place character=P

Just tested this, loading time is quite massive for town. It's not instant. I doubt it will get used as much as people thinks.

I think it's bad we can only have it for the city of the Grand Company we picked.
I don't need inner city teleports in Limsa Lominsa..I wouldn't need it in Ul'dah either.
But it would be REALLY useful in Gridania..x-X'

Based on the NPC text for one of the new NPCs in Limsa, it might be a possibility that there are ways to buy "blackmarket" aetheryte passes from other cities.



Also could just be a load of hooey too *shrug*

So I just confirmed this. The new Qiqirn NPCs in the towns sell the blackmarket aetherpasses among other things. You can pay with gil or seals.

Exactly what I was thinking, SirOleas. I'm thinking the remade maps in 2.0 might make need of it. Still, I don't mind the feature. OH MY GOD, I can get to the other side of town faster.... what the hell, I'm so mad!

I like the idea of the in city Portals. I also like that you can't use them till you buy the Special Item.

Question Though, my GC is Limsa. So if I buy the Item to use the portals. Does it only work for Limsa?

You can buy the Limsa Lominsa pass from your GC for 3k seals.
If you want to teleport around in Gridania and Ul'dah as well you will need to buy the pass from the blackmarket NPCs for 400k Gil or 4k seals per pass.
