Keeping the Oath strategy "SPOILER ALERT"

    Good day to all !

Some people may already know about this, but I figured it would be helpful for others who want to get their AF body and know how to beat this fun, but a bit difficult, fight. Worry not, it's not "primal difficult" but some planning is indeed required.

This is a strategy for the final quest for Paladin. Once finished, you receive the final piece of PLD AF and the ability "Hallowed Ground".

This fight takes place near Camp Blue Fog, and requires eight players that are on the quest or won it already. Therefore, in order to enter the fight, you MUST switch to PLD, THEN you switch your class/job inside the instance.

Now, for the fight itself : It consists of one ogre, and one eye. The eye has nasty aoe enfeebles, and the ogre hits like a truck.

Now, once you've all switched to PLD and entered the instance, you need to switch to your classes that you've established. In our case, our setup was : 2 X PLD, 2 X CNJ, 3 X THM and MRD.

The instance is placed between a crevasse and a mountain wall. Also, note that kiters must be aware of their surroundings, as they musn't leave the instance by accident.

For the actual fight, have one PLD take enmity on the eye, and kite it around the crevasse. Make sure you always stay on the edges of the crevasse, or else you may accidentally exit the instance. The other PLD takes enmity on the ogre and takes it near the mountain wall to the right of the instance when you enter. Make sure you do NOT attack it from behind, as it has the same abilities from Dzaemel's ogre. CNJs need to watch out not to over-cure.

Once the ogre, has fallen, bring the Eye to the same place. If the PLD that had enmity on the ogre doesn't have enmity on the Eye, it is advised he/she switches to a DD role in order to speed things up.

The fight took about 10 minutes, and we had about 3 deaths, which got recovered as soon as was possible. All in a all, a fun, but challenging, fight. We won it after about 5 tries as we were trying things in order to finally come up with this strategy. Among those was trying to zerg the fight with 6 PLDs, thinking it would go like the level 45 quest. :P

Have fun, and enjoy your PLD AF ! ^^

members of the PT DO NOT need to be flagged for this quest. Nor do they need to switch to Pld to enter the fight.

I along with 5 other LS mates attempted thsi fight and only 1 person was flagged for this quest, in fact they were the only person who had Pld unlocked.

This applies to all job quests quests.

Members who do not have the quest flagged will not view the CS but will be pulled into the instanced once its ready.

or kite Ogre, works both. In my case one ARC kited the Ogre and we went as tons of MRDs with 1 BLM and 1-2 CNJs and raped the eye and then the ogre. piece of cake

In that case you'll have to explain to me how it is that our party were all flagged for the quest but that we were not able to enter the instance whenever one of us was not currently on paladin ?

I've heard there was a mini-update this morning though, that might have changed things, because I finished that quest at 2 AM this morning.

If you have the quest flagged, you have to enter as PLD. If you don't have it flagged, you go in without seeing the CS.

i did duo strategy for whm lvl 45 fight. it may work here too. after buffing whm opens with stonera and starts hauling ass. helps that whm can cast without staff out and walks faster than others. pld stays in middle with ogre, heals himself. very technical. should be lost of fun.
