Personally I felt Shiva Unreal (the only one I ever did, to be fair) was incredibly over-tuned for what it was meant to be. Unreal felt like it was meant to appeal to a more casual audience and ended up initially attracting a lot of casual players when it released, who proceeded to get demolished by the DPS check. It almost felt like the devs had play-tested it in on-ilevel melded gear, failing to understand that most people would be doing it in downscaled gear with ignored melds.

If they could add some solid replay value to it beyond a weekly dance then it'd be nice.

I loved doing Unreal Shiva and Unreal Titan, but I just didn't see much value in doing them more than just the once. The game has plenty of daily/weekly routine objectives and tasks to do already.
The problem with putting mounts and glams behind it is the Unreals are only around for a limited time then disappear forever.
The Developers said if you don't feel like you have anything more to do you should be able to unsub and come back months or years later to play everything you missed as a chunk of content. Having a limited number of weeks to grind out a mount before the fight is just gone forever is something that directly conflicts with it. Even savage raids stick around and you can earn the rewards long after the rest of the raiding community has moved on.

I would never in a 1000 years do this content, but it sounds super fun to be honest. It's also super easy to code since the stuff has mechanics they just hit for like negative damage. Just crank it up. Like min ilvl Praetorium where Gaius 1 shots you off of the elevator.

And what leads you to this assessment? And based on that assessment, players who could not clear an unreal trial are what? _______________

Fill in the blank please. I wonder what the clear rates on the three unreal trials so far have been. Very curious indeed.

Your idea is literally like bringing an MMA cage to a pony show…

It‘s already hard enough to get people for the current ‘hard’ content (which it not even is measured in WoW mythic/old heroic standards), as most people clearly play for the MSQ/house/gold saucer/crafting simulator/glamour….basically everything where the gameplay itself isn’t even touched…

To be honest, this is the whole flaw with the design of it. I personally don't think it should be a limited-time event but either make additions to it through the months and retain the duties, or just rework the system so you can get tokens and such for multiple clears and then trade those, irrespective of the fight you clear. My main point really is that all the system amounted to was another weekly obligation which it has much more potential for. Or just find a way to naturally embed the scaling functionality into all duties. It'd be a massive undertaking, probably, especially for older content but it'd help breathe some more life into the game as far as lower end content is concerned.

You would be surprised. I think from the latest census, some DCs had about 46% of level 90 players that completed both normal and savage raids this expansion.

I would say weekly or monthly. Monthly would be better for getting consistant updates for rewards. It isn't uncommon for most MMOs to perform weekly maintenance on reset days.

This 100% it could even be an alternate way to gear up for savage / ultimate, or give a unique set of glamour gear. Sadly though if it were to be anything that is glamour related, they would not update the content often because asking the devs to make a gear set every month that would never happen, they make like 2 maybe 3 gear sets every 4 months as is. In all honesty though, if they put forth the effort once they have all the unreals done and gear sets made, it would just be a matter of rotating them. Unreal trails should rotate monthly as well, it feels like that content does not get much love.

players who could not clear an unreal trial are not participating, or lazy and don't learn to play the game. It boils down to those two things for everything in reality. Clear rate is likely higher than you would expect, participation is probably lower than you would expect due to rewards and what not.

I would not say that is entirely true, but it also depends on your data center. While Aether DC has a lot more participation around 46% in harder content, I think one of the NA DCs had about a 4% participation.
