Maybe a robe hanging on the wall next to the bed that changes your outfit to a random sleepware each time you use it.
... and then reddit gets absolutely bombed with pictures of lala's in animal onsies.

This idea has been back on my mind since I've been playing Endwalker MSQ, because it has reminded me that in addition to the login/logout cutscenes we sometimes do get story cutscenes showing our character in bed in the middle of the night. It would make sense to have them dressed for sleep in those scenes.
I do think it's been removed (I've never seen it happen in years of playing) and it's a pity, because it seems like something they could do interesting things with. Future hints, past events, important quotes.

The nightmare hasn't been around since late 1.x, yeah; it was a part of the storyline around the Seventh Umbral Calamity.
If I remember right, the small chance that the little 'dream sequence' could be a nightmare started happening right before everything went completely south, and was like... Dalamud huge in the sky, and all your NPC friends laying dead around you. And as you knelt among them in despair, Nael van Darnus came up behind you with weapon drawn... and then you woke up having fallen out of the inn bed in a panic. Or something along those lines. And then in the actual game-world outside of the nightmare, Dalamud began to descend from the sky, and...
Yeah.
Nightmare premonition of the Calamity notwithstanding, the normal dream mechanic was neat, though I don't remember anything except the nightmare being a cutscene, as opposed to just "You awaken, having dreamed of <some description of a dream>." flavor text. I also think you could find a random item left in the inn room tied to the dream, or a default of almond cookies. (Which... I seem to recall was presented as finding it 'left behind' and potentially under the bed? Maybe I'm wrong. But if not, should I really be eating floor cookies? Especially ones from under the bed?!)
It makes me sad that logging off in the inn room now only gives you the 'climbing into bed' animation when you log out and the 'waking up' animation when you log back in. Having some perks to logging out in an inn again -- and allowing you to do so in your bed in a house/apartment/whatever -- would be nice, even if it was just having a sleepwear glamour as you did so.
And hey, maybe it's time to bring back Surprise Floor Cookies again...![]()
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

That doesn't sound particularly healthy. Perhaps the WoL trains their immense aetherial fortitude by overcoming small things like getting violently ill from food of suspect origin.
Still, the dream flavour text sounds like a pretty simple thing for them to do if they wanted. Something simple like nine times out of ten you just get "you awake to the sound of birds chirping outside" or fluffy things like that and then every so often you get something interesting or weird or significant.
I don't care, but I don't mind it either. Between have and have-not, I prefer having. More power to people who desire it, and perhaps I will like that one day too.
Seems neat. But also, can I logout in my apartment bed please?![]()

Bumping in honour of getting new pajama sets from patch 6.4.
They're cute pajamas. I haven't gotten them but have seen a few people posting to EC.

So that's why it resurfaced..,
Fine as usual.., They'll just need to add more sleepwear of all types. or unrestricted some old ones for variety

I forgot the inn was a thing. I didn't even know there was a sleep/wake animation either.
Sure, but i also want my house to have the same feature when there's a bed in the lot
I know glamour dresser is out of the scope of the code atm (lmao) but this shouldn't be surely
