Nothing but Square Enix's stance on harassment is stopping players from using the third party parser to do any of the above. And having it as a toggle option in-game to make talking about it no longer taboo (and help the players who are worried about downloading it right now / don't know about it, also figure out their performance), doesn't have to change Square Enix's stance on handling harassment, thus nothing will change. What you are NOT allowed to do is to use it as a blunt instrument to scream abuse, epithets, obscenities and harass OTHER players.
Parsers have a long and storied history of flagrant abuse and misuse. Yoshi and his team DO NOT want to see that toxicity in FF 14. Neither do I ...having had a gutful of that back in another MMO. Their policy is clear cut, specific and has valid reasoning behind it. I agree with that policy 100%.
You DO have a tool to measure your own performance. You do NOT have the right or license or permission to use said tool to "correct others" or " to educate them". If they wish help, they will come to you, or to others.
If a party finder group for a Savage boss has duty completion enabled, with the intent of defeating the boss in the description, and someone joins it and does insufficient DPS to beat the enrage timer Square Enix themselves inserted into the game, then their insufficient DPS should be a valid argument to get them removed from the group. So no, other players shouldn't be left alone if they openly accept being judged by joining a group where their DPS is an important factor to being able to beat the content that group set out to do.

And since that IS their stance, and since you DID click "I agree" when you joined the game, then that stance is binding on you and you need to follow it.Nothing but Square Enix's stance on harassment is stopping players from using the third party parser to do any of the above
Will. not. happen. And having it as a toggle option in-game to make talking about it no longer taboo
several pages of completely valid and civil discussions gone again
can't talk about your bad experiences with your community in a related topic at all apparently because mods will just nuke everything tangentially related to it
what an actual, honest to god, joke of 'moderation' this forum has, I think I actually prefer reddit's hivemind and in-your-face mods rather than this silent removal of discussions and posts because they, lo and behold, aren't fellating the community as something infallible and amazing but rather as just like any other community, where people have good AND bad experiences
Apart from feeling like no one should be able to dictate how other people play their game, is it perhaps a matter of trying to preserve the validity of specific classes?
Not all DPS are created equal. Even with absouelte perfect execution, some dps will always fall short when comparing damage output
In addition to trying to prevent toxicity, maybe they are trying to stop certain classes becoming even more of an outcast? I already see quite a few PF's excluding DRK's from ex trials and such for reasons unknown to me, I think DRK does a fantastic job across the board, but apparently some people are really buying into the idea that it is at a massive disadvantage to other tanks.
Only way you could prevent the above is of course to flatline all the dps and balance them out in their entirety, and I don't think anyone really wants that. Just another perspective

If (and this is a big if because I highly doubt you're being serious here) you have 8 years of only people being jerks to you, that sounds like a you problem tbh. Maybe pick better people to be in your circle and stop automatically putting assumptions on others that they'll be a jerk. Might actually help you be treated better.

Oh I am very serious. Why would you think otherwise? If (and this is a big if because I highly doubt you're being serious here) you have 8 years of only people being jerks to you, that sounds like a you problem tbh.
You may dismiss all I have to say as much as you like, changes nothing. The fact that dps meters in WOW are abused, misused and are the source of toxic behaviour is well documented. That you choose to disregard it is...not my concern.
Changes nothing. The facts stand as is.
You may use a dps meter to PRIVATELY monitor and improve your own performance, you may not under any circumstances use said meter to harass others.
I really dont see how this is a problem for anyone to understand or abide by.
When it comes to party finder, the leader choosing to let someone go because of poor performance isn't really "harassment", the leader of a PF group has the right to kick people from thier group for any reason. They could kick you because they don't like your glamour and that would be within thier right.
What would qualify as harassment would be that PF leader, after kicking you, proceeding to whisper you and tell you about your terrible parse, and that you suck, etc, etc.
14 has a reputation as a hugbox for a reason.
