The PS3 version was finished in November and IS ready to go. The only thing holding it back is the current state of FFXIV.
FFXIV has been slammed by the media and SE know that for this game to survive there major shot will be the PS3 launch when the media go back and re-review the game. It will be billed as a re-launch of FFXIV and they will not release it until they are sure they can overcome all the negative press they received with the PC launch.
At the minute SE are still trying to get the basic mechanics of the game nailed as they know that whatever they do now will be it, they won't have time to change something if it doesn't work so they need to make sure what they decide to do with the core of the game is right and it is what people will want.
Once they have the core of the game finalised and know what direction it will be taking they will have to go back and make sure the content they have lined up will work with it and they have enough to make sure everyone at the PS3 launch will be happy.
I honestly believe SE has a lot more content than they are letting on but pulled it at launch as they knew they would have to fix other aspects of the game so they gave themselves 6 months until the PS3 launch (March) which they thought would be long enough and the content they left behind would be enough to keep PC players happy until then. Unfortunately they severely under estimated the amount of work they would need to do and also the reception the game would receive. So now have pretty much written off the PC launch and are focusing everything on the PS3 re-launch. We are basically in Beta and they will continue to drip feed us little bits of content while they work on the basics, just enough to keep us busy but will save as much as they can for the PS3 launch.
When they launch on PS3 won't it look a lot better when they can say "Look we have a new battle system, redesigned zones, new zones, new quests, new missions, companies, chocobo's, airships, towns, cities and much much more." Thats what they are waiting for but for now they need to fix the basics, once they are done and final then they will start looking at the PS3 launch dates.
Nicely stated. What's the saying that goes here again? Oh yes.../threadThe PS3 version was finished in November and IS ready to go. The only thing holding it back is the current state of FFXIV.

What would be awesome is if instead of a "Welcome Back to Eorzea" theme, they had a "Welcome to Badass Land" theme. Just my two cents...

Actually if you go to Gamestop you can already pre-order the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV, they have it scheduled for release in July

LOL, I don't think PS3 can handle the highest graphic settings for FFXIV
should be running at 65-70% from what PC can
they better stop developing those useless gaming console anymore
making a new one, sell it at high price, discount it half price after few years, release a new console when the old one became garbage
stop this pointless circle for the gamer sake

I am in favor of systems that can be upgraded/customized with parts and accessories
I am strongly against the PS3
