Exactly, unvoiced cutscenes can be just as important, if not - more important - to the storyline. The unvoiced cutscenes are there to make you read and process / internalize what's going on. Sometimes reading is stronger than having it read to you. Likewise - certain story elements can only be shown, not read. (In From the Cold is a more obvious example why they made it an instance rather than just showing it via a cutscene).

FFXIV does this in basically every expansion. If people still haven't picked that up yet... then they must have story skipped through every expansion so far.
