It happens; usually because you get one of those tanks who takes "wall to wall" pulls a bit too literally and doesn't just stop at the last mob before a progression wall.
Extra points if they hold still long enough to bait everyone into blowing all of their cooldowns.
Bloody hate it when they do that. They end up being slow so I pull the second pack for them, we get on a tight area where the mobs group up nicely because of it (Smileton has a lot of those), and then suddenly after 2-3 GCDs they just sprint off for absolutely no reason. I can only assume they all have claustrophobia. It happens; usually because you get one of those tanks who takes "wall to wall" pulls a bit too literally and doesn't just stop at the last mob before a progression wall.

I admit that I meant it more for comedy value, though in fairness I have seen tanks yeet themselves out of the star less often than they used to since Endwalker launched. (Though I do appreciate that the only way to escape the star in many raid arenas now is to literally hurl yourself into the death wall.)It happens; usually because you get one of those tanks who takes "wall to wall" pulls a bit too literally and doesn't just stop at the last mob before a progression wall.

Not really better. There is one raid and few dungeons and anything else is obsolete. It's like doing ARR primals for 1000th time. Amount of things to remember is small.
As for the "standing in fire" - it is and isn't an mechanic in WoW - there are cases where there will be some low damage aoe or alike that you can ignore and healer can easily handle it (usually) and aside of damage there usually are no CC side effects like in FF (and healer is expected to "always be casting" and mostly or only heals).
People that actually do high end content like very high M+ keys or mythic raids will rather play properly as those small damage AoE become nuclear strikes.
That described attitude is more of Quin69 type - "I'm a WoW player, I hate this game but I have to play it and will play it like it's WoW because it's superior" (and got boosted so he flashes his "clears" to everyone).
Big star scary. Gotta avoid at any cost.
They should give nin doton the same treatment as earthly star, lol

I was working on my NIN this week, and during one of the random mid-level dungeons I swear the tank intentionally kept pulling all the mobs out of my dust pile. I was so happy I could finally get the silly mudras down properly, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Although every E6s party was Conflag prog. I've seen PF more than once jokingly (or not so jokingly) refer to it as the "heal LB3 mechanic".Usually it's the fourth fight of a tier where that happens! Like how everything in E12S was lions prog. Intermediate Relativity prog? Actually lions prog. Cleanup and enrage? Actually lions prog. Weekly two-chest reclear? Actually lions prog. (The only thing that wasn't actually lions prog were parties labeled as lions prog, which were in fact Shiva prog.)
But E12s really took the cake when it came to friendly fire. Every mechanic was a battle royal - so many ways to kill someone. Icicles, hyperbeams, giant kitty flamethrowers, puddles on sidecleave, marker PvP, debuff PvP, clock lasers... take your pick. There was always that one person nuking the whole stack with Aero or Fire on Intermediate.
having an addon that calls you a little girl and then blares an airhorn in your ear is not skill and for those who aren't aware i'm not exaggerating. one of the sounds it makes (or made, as even the dev for one of the most popular mods has bailed) is a voice telling you to run away like a little girl.
i was a catanoob - resto shammy tauren being my main - and got into the endgame content. when mists happened i swapped to tank (pali, draenei) and as i began getting into the endgame content for that i decided i just couldn't tolerate both the overall negative community and its reliance on addons. i was sick of being told that if i were to even attempt to heal (or tank) without DBM or Healium for even the most casual content that i would be kicked or at the very least told off.
in defense of my previous post, i'm concerned that there are a lot of (ex)wow players who upon hearing people complain about other wow players take it too personally. said (ex)wow players (and myself included) enjoy playing ffxiv game and many (and hopefully myself) are at the very least half-way decent at it so i can at least empathize with the feeling that i didn't really struggle as much as others with this game. there has however been a massive influx of people trying FFXIV for the first time and the fact that it coincides with its competitor not updating for a full year is not coincidental, nor should it be treated as such. while it's understandable that people are new and new people make mistakes, it would be a disservice to the community to ignore them or pretend they haven't picked up habits or skill that that - while useful in WoW - simply won't work in ffxiv and should be corrected.
it is statistically improbable, if not impossible, that over half of ffxiv's population did not try WoW at some point or another. it's also impolite to those who still enjoy warcraft or continue to play wow because you're minimizing its impact and history in the process, as well as the influence its had on every other game including this one (see: the transition from 1.0 to 2.0/ARR)

To DBM's credit, it's a voiceline from the original Karazhan's Red Riding Hood stage boss.having an addon that calls you a little girl and then blares an airhorn in your ear is not skill and for those who aren't aware i'm not exaggerating. one of the sounds it makes (or made, as even the dev for one of the most popular mods has bailed) is a voice telling you to run away like a little girl.![]()
I give up with you people. Forum community is absolutely unhinged. Imagine joining my alt's FC just to wait for me to come online to harass me lmao.
