Materia DC - Regarding Free Companies.

Well me and a lot of the OCE community are looking forward to Materia launching tonight, I do have one major concern the devs seem to be avoiding, and that's regarding FCs.

I'm a long time player on Tonberry and a leader of a FC that has been around for years, have a M house paid for by myself, and airships and submarines levelled up high, however, If I am to transfer my main character over all that is lost, with no reimbursement and no guarantee of getting a house to even have a workshop.
Getting submarines up to get exclusive mats took me literal years with the amount of RNG involved. I don't want to have to repeat that.

At this point it's exchanging years of work for better ping.
It really needs to be addressed.

We've been talking about this as well. Not being able to transfer your free company is a huge pain We have almost 200m in credits plus a fully decked out workshop that everyone has worked on.

How would it be addressed, though? Would you want your FC home shifted to a ward and location the same as before? What about others who have rooms in the house? Would all materials, progress and structures copy over?

I'm not asking you to solve the problem, but it's up to you to decide if work you put into your FC is not as important as less ping. It's after all, starting over. That's how home world transfers work right? Can't take everything along.

What would you want from an addressal?

There have been talks about FC transferring as far back as HW.

As far as just transferring FCs, I know it's not that simple, but there needs to be some sort of way to at least keep workshop progression, it's a huge time and gil sink that just nulled.

When I switched to Light I actually really enjoyed starting over, and we had everything unlocked and the best subs.
It was a lot of work that we had to re-do, but it was fun just chilling on voice and make some progress every few days.
I think if I had the option to keep everything(which I think should be there, because not everyone likes to start over and will never do all of that again) I would still start over.
Not a 3rd time though xD

I would rather have a way to transfer it over. Inter-DC transfer if you will... when I buy a FC house on Materia it allows me to shift it from the old NA server into Materia and frees up the old spot then.

It's more like 6 months with good luck and 8 months with bad luck. It taking literal years means something went wrong for you.

OP is not asking for a free house. OP is asking to be able to transfer his FC and workshop progression. Please do try reading before making snarky comments. It actually isn't an unreasonable request.

This is something we have struggled with too as an FC. Our entire FC is moving as we are all Aus based. We made the choice to move but it hasn't been made easy packing up just a small FC. We stock piled as much stuff we could and I have 2 retainers full of exclusive mats, ship parts and a tonne of fuel.

With free transfers you might also consider to make a bunch of alts and level them just enough to get retainers. Invite them to your FC, stack them full of stuff you want, including all those ceruleum tanks and stuff off the marketboard, and free transfer them.
