What "Tales from the EndWalker" -esque short story would you like to see? [6.0]

As the title states, what short stories for The Lodestone would you like or expect to see from Endwalker that fills in the gaps of things happening offscreen or past referenced events during the MSQ?


I'd personally like to see;

-A cute interaction between Tataru and the Scion's secret patron, Ameliance

-Any sort of flashback to Garlemald right before the shitshow, preferably involving Quintus, Jullus, or even Varis

-Hythlo calming down Emet after he stormed out of the conversation at Venat's place

-More dragon lore w/ Vrtra pls, especially Midgardsormr's thoughts about Hydaelyn being gone

We did get to see some of the madness happening in Garlemald prior to its current state. Just not with those particular NPCs. But the majority of it happened after Varis was killed. It was the catalyst to the nation's demise.

I would actually like to see the rallying of the remainder of the Garlean military led by Jullus for the battle at Magna Glacies.

Just about anything in Elpis that takes place off screen. Including this "volcanic excursion" Azem recently partook in.

I would have really loved to have seen this conversation that took place between Vrtra and his brood. Especially that small moment where Midgarsormr spoke.

Graha's venture into the forbidden section of the library in Sharlyan (that had to have been gold).

I'll also take anything involving the Loporrits.

Any of the Adamantite gathering groups, as it is a great plot-hook to check in on whichever ally they haven't written about recently and get their opinions on the Final Days, the Scions, and how far both groups have come and the bonds formed since ARR

Seconding Tataru and Ameliance and especially anything Thavnair and/or Vrtra

I agree about Tataru and Ameliance for sure.

Something with Jullus (and/or maybe even Quintus) delving a little more into Garlemald before and during the fall

Erenville would be a good add as well

Maybe something with Varshahn as the main character showing Vrtra's more day to day interactions (and the peoples' interactions with him)

And, for a personal want, a deeper dive with Krile and her interactions with Hydylaen (and the loss of connection therein). She makes mention of this in passing a couple of times and it really seems to impact her deeply but we never really get to learn more

Oh! thought of where in Thavnair I'd want a story, if it is a roughly contemporaneous tale (I'll have to wait for another EE to get any info on the first 'satrap'). Have the POV character be Nidhana and be it either the start of the anti-tempering research or something mid/post-msq. Thus we can get some Akasa info and Varshahn cameo.

Something dealing with the Convocation members we haven't met, like Altima. Altima's office deals with the arts, and I want to see what that entailed. Was it theatre, painting, sculptures, creations, etc? Did Altima have some sort of friendship with Azem due to Azem being able to travel all over the world to see different things?

We already did get a little of that 'incident' covered in a previous story on the Lodestone - it was the incident involving Azem 'borrowing' the Ifrita concept from the Bureau of the Architect via Hythlodaeus pulling strings to stop the eruption, just so that the island and "it's grapes that were especially sweet" could be saved, against the Convocation's wishes (SE then extended the gag further in EW by allowing the player to choose as a dialogue choice when asked by a loporrit in Labyrinthos "if they like grapes"; that "I would gladly charge headfirst into an erupting volcano just to save a vine of grapes!" (paraphrased) )

But yeah, definetely anything involving Elpis and maybe even more hints as to our Ancient counterpart has been doing would be amazing, including actual full coverage of their 'volcanic' adventure (and to be a fly on the wall during the inevitable dressing down they would have undoubtably copped from Emet and the Convocation afterwards ).

What I want to see is:

A tale that follows someone's point of view, hopefully Venat's, during the debate preceding Zodiark's Third Act, so that we get visibility into what the state of the world was at that specific moment of time and what the life of the planet that was on the line was like.

A tale told from Emet-Selch's point of view that reflects on the events of the whole game from an Ascian point of view after Zodiark is killed and he and Hytholodeus meet in the afterlife.

Something, anything, hopefully in one of the above stories I mentioned, that gives us more insight into Azem.

A report from a Meteion where she finds a planet that isn't depressing as hell but her report never makes it to the others for whatever reason.

The story of the Legatus who surrendered to the Eorzean forces off-screen and behind the scenes during the events of the Garlemald section of the expansion.

I'm very curious about Emet-Selch's "wasted years of his youth" that he refused to allow Hythlodaeus to elaborate on.

If we never heard anything about the Ancients again, I'd probably be happy. But we will, so my hope is that it's more about Venat or Hermes rather than Emet-Selch. I've had more than enough of him.

I expect more of Lorens from the Company of Heroes that we met in the melee role quest. That was definitely a dynamic they're keen to explore more.

A story from the Meteions' perspective might be interesting.

What I REALLY want are stories about Thavnair and/or Garlemald dealing with their disasters and rebuilding. Garlemald I expect to get a lot of in-game, but Thavnair... it actually faced a lot of destruction of stuff that's not easy to rebuild, like jungle. I wanna learn how they're dealing with it.

I also want to see the first international diplomatic summit where Vrtra turns up. That just sounds like a fun wrench to throw into the proceedings. "And now, everyone, please welcome... an immortal dragon that has outlived countless civilizations and will most assuredly outlive all of ours as well."
