If I can't be darkened enough, then it's not edgy enough for DRK to wear, unfortunately.

Okay this is a little stretched. The literal definition of blackface is "used to refer to the practice of wearing makeup to imitate the appearance of a black person". if you're just wearing black makeup for a clown getup it's definitely not the same.Sometimes square enix and other japanese companies have blind spots when it comes to problematic content. Remember when nintendo had to remove mr. game & watch's native american headdress? Same thing here with the dark colours for facepaint. It's treading dangerously to blackface territory.. please don't use dark colors for facepaint.
I find this is a problem with most of the face paints, they are not dark enough even with the 'dark' option selected. They are also faded or completely different colors than the color shown on the options menu. Those colors do not match what ends up on your PC's face. Also no real red option sucks, this face paint would look cool in a ruby red.Even with black on the dark setting it's translucent, way more so than the other facepaints. Wore it for one dungeon and switched back because it made the color look weird/washed out and the only other person in the dungeon who was wearing it thought the same thing. Nothing like the art for the event advertisement.
Edit: I'm not talking about the edge factor, I mean it looks washed out compared the rest of the facepaints. Even if you use red to try and duplicate the face from the promo art it ends up looking washed out in comparison.
