The nose is part of the hat mesh so that's why.
In real life, rabbit ears aren't stiff giraffe necks that can't bend, so I don't know what's up with the anti-hat business on the races lol.
Also it's a top hat, the ears can fit under it fine.

The game already supports race-specific meshes, as exemplified by the hempen sets. No technical reason a viera/hroth specific mesh with just the nose couldn't have been included.

If it was such a big deal they could've just made a separate item that was just the nose. I don't usually like hats that remove my ears so I would use such and item as well.

People just need to accept that this is what Viera and Hrothgar are and what they will always be. This is the 2nd seasonal event in a row where they couldn't wear the headgear.
They are limited races, and there seems to be zero incentive from the dev team to fix it. They hyped up new hairstlyes for Viera with 6.0 just for it to be only 6 new ones. I have no doubt that Hrothgar will get the same half-assed "improvements" with 6.1, and that Hrothgals will be met with similar limitations.
Maybe there will be another half dozen new hairstyles when 7.0 launches. Please look forward to it.

Are yall seriously upset that you can't wear a clown nose?

Based on which hats can and can't be used by Viera it's more likely they never created a hat-friendly model for their hairstyles. Any hat that removes hair works, but any hat that doesn't is invisible. They need to update the models on the hair for both races and allow the real money hair to be used on these races. Doubly so that hroths' hair shouldn't be tied to a fantasiaIt's probably a resource issue. They stated way back with shadowbringers that the heads on the two races are not using the same frame. That basically means that for them to get hats, the dev team would have to recreate every single helmet and hat in the game twice over just for those two races.

This seems to be true for the most part. Strangely the Thug's Mug doesn't work on Viera, at least females.Based on which hats can and can't be used by Viera it's more likely they never created a hat-friendly model for their hairstyles. They really do need to figure this out, I kind of want to be able to wear the chocobo racing mask I you know... WORKED hard to get via the races and leveling those birds.
The dumbest part is that the "new" hair they added already should have hat-friendly models from being ported from the other races, but because in all this time they didn't adapt the 14 or so actually unique hairstyles Viera and Hroth have combined (with male Viera it's 21-ish?) even those don't work.Based on which hats can and can't be used by Viera it's more likely they never created a hat-friendly model for their hairstyles. Yeah, I don't even play Viera outside of an alt I rarely do anything with, and this is just getting stupid. There really is no excuse for this to keep happening, especially with brand new items custom created for a brand new event.
