They never "took away" any abilities, because they weren't named before today, everyone took an unofficial list as what we would be getting, after the debate about a charge ability from MNK we were linked to ffxivpro for a list of actions.

This is why unofficial lists should not be made ppl just get hyped up about them.

MNK Abl. 1 Temporarily increases attack speed.

MNK Abl. 3 Prevents target from executing actions or moving. MP is continually consumed while effect is active. Effect fades upon executing an action, or if you or the target sustain damage.

MNK Abl. 4 Converts your attacks into wind attacks and grants a bonus to evasion. Effect fades upon reuse. MP is continually consumed while effect is active. Cannot be used simultaneously with PGL Ability 5 or PGL Ability 6.

The list with Sap on was an UNOFFICIAL list, ie not released by SE, you for some reason thought it was all going to happen, because it was online, I only take things from devs or reps as what will happen, not third party websites.

If you wanna prove me wrong link me to the page that says "Hai peeps MNK will get Sap"

Yes, "Sap" could have been cut on the editing floor. It might show up, it might never appear at all. You just never know. Having never been actively in the game though, I don't think you can call the skill "removed."

It still looks realistic that they decided not to include it if you consider that they re-adjusted the potency of the current crowd control actions in the patch.

Probably balance issues associated to that "Sap" ability being too powerful in dungeons or boss fights.

I can understand the argument regarding the ambiguity of what it means to "sap" something/someone. I was going with what I know from WoW. In that game, sapping is essentially doing what MNK Ability 3 described. I, of course, do not fully expect that, just because that's what Sap is in WoW, that's what it will be in FFXIV.

It was called Sap, that list from FFXIVPro was made from skills that are in the .dats atm, so ya, seems like they removed it before even giving to us. =p
