    If I had a tail I would rather deal with the discomfort of binding it down and having it inside the armor than having it out, it's part of your body just swinging around there on the outside.
    Same thing honestly with horns too the horns are attached to the body if you hit them with a weapon it's going to deal damage to their heads and perhaps even kill.
    A tail has bones in it. You can't just bind it down flat; it has to be able to lie somewhere comfortably. I imagine you would at least need to pass it forward between your legs and then... where? Back around a hip? Up to the stomach? Any which way it went, it would hamper movement and probably hurt the tail as well. And that's for the relatively flexible Miqo'te – Au Ra tails with their scale plating are both naturally armoured and likely to be stiff. They still move, of course, but there's probably a limit to how tightly they can curl up.

    I am undecided about the idea of sometimes hiding them with capes and pretending that they are just hidden by the cape, because I haven't seen it in motion yet, but you can't say that it could really work like that.

    (More sets with armour over the tail would be nice though.)

    As for horns, yes the helmets should probably be armoured to cover the ears, but since they aren't, it's not as if you can hide them.

    Yep. A cape toggle would always be the best solution, if they are intent on releasing so many pieces with capes. Not only for tailed races, but also players who just don't want to have a cape on a piece.

    I agree with this though, it's blatantly obnoxious at the double-standards they create. The fact that the new gear doesn't even work with Viera half the time is a blatant spit in the face. It's laziness, they have all the money in the world to make these things happen, but they choose not to, because it'd harm the bottom line, and because players don't create enough of a humbug about it.

    While it's entirely speculative, I have to wonder if they created Viera ears (and more specifically gave players a choice in the shape of Viera ears) by repurposing the "top half and bottom half" of the hair so normal hats that hide the top half of the hairstyle on other races instead make the ears vanish or something weird like that. That's the only logical reason I can think of as to why they haven't been able to make any "top half covering" hats work but they can make full-head covering hats work.

    If it was about "laziness" and/or work load, I would think that they would prioritise all relic hats over a mishmash of a few dungeon things and some relics but not others.

    I don't think the dev team is lazy; I think they do a lot of good work considering how SQEX has a thirty year history of mismanagement, ever since they were just Squaresoft. The fact that Yoshida and his team have made something good within a company that has had as many bankruptcy scares in as many decades that it existed is amazing really. I do feel like there was a lot of "get it done, even if its sloppy" in the past though; and that kind of thing comes back to bite a team since they always run into limitations. I think they could make a lot of the issues they have go away if they could get clearance to go back and fix things.

    My big thing is that I really wish that was more of a "this needs fixing" sentiment, over a "they tried their best" that i see spread around. Sure, observational bias and all that, but stuff like this, there needs to be a "no, we won't accept this action" for some development decisions.

    I do think it's odd that they disabled tails on the aphorism sets but not for the artifact sets where applicable.
    At the very least I wish there were a toggle. I know some people prefer the tail clip to no tail, but I think I prefer no tail to the tail clip

    Edit: Though what I REALLY wish they'd do is revisit cape physics. Did you know that during the ARR beta, Odin's armor had a cape with full physics? It's true. They apparently removed it because it was apparently too much for the PS3 to handle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=de...ejPnRK4&t=511s

    But the PS3 version has been discontinued for a while, unless they outright changed code stuff since that beta that would make it impossible, I feel like they should try it again.

    Playing on my Miqo'te alt, I'd definitely love this to be a toggle akin to head pieces visor.

    Their tail made me stick to non-robey clothes which felt weird because on my main midlander, about half of my dresser are quite and/or pretty robey. I like their tail, but it looks 'painful' to see their tail getting 'chopped' lmao.

    Would much prefer to have an option to disable capes instead.

    Especially since capes in general looks atrocious.
