There is a penalty. We don't need to make it more. The game can't hold you hostage. Sorry if that's not what you want.

Only for the first one, everyone that follows is free (those Mexican standoff are rather funny at Castrum). As I said before, in another topic, just enforce "join in progress" for that roulette (any roulette tbh) to ensure replacements and be done with that. Sure, some will get stuck in a loop but a roulette is a roulette, is someone want an specific dungeon that person should que for it.

But it's perfectly acceptable in your mind to hold the 7 other players hostage in an instance while waiting for your replacement because you didn't get the dungeon you wanted.
This is the epitome of selfish entitlement.
Personally I'd increase the lockout timer for abandoning the msq roulette to 24 hours. That would go a long way towards alleviating the problem.

What’s with the uptight attitude? But it's perfectly acceptable in your mind to hold the 7 other players hostage in an instance while waiting for your replacement because you didn't get the dungeon you wanted.

People can leave for very valid reasons. I left once just after the start of Castrum after someone in the house had an accident. Why should I be locked from roulette 24 hours?
And even if someone leaves just because they don’t want to complete the run, they are not holding anyone hostage. Both MSQ dungeons can be done with fewer people. Just queue for a replacement if you want (or don’t) and continue with the mission.

How are they holding anyone hostage if they already left the dungeon? I don’t think you even understand that word at all. Also why would you think you can’t keep going and clear something so easy with only 7 people? But it's perfectly acceptable in your mind to hold the 7 other players hostage in an instance while waiting for your replacement because you didn't get the dungeon you wanted.

Their thoughts dont make sense right? its kinda funny. As soon as one person leaves, you're free to go as well or stay if everyone else wants. If everyone else leaves, then you can try to fill the party (and watch people leaving) , or leave and try again.

Agreed! For these two duties, up the penalty for abandoning these to 24 hours instead of 30 minutes AND make all the experience earned from any other roulettes cut in half. either already played through or being played through.
Yes, these duties are silly for most of us, we have done them so often that it's "movie" time with the cut scences but for the new people it's important to the story and as new users to this duty they DESERVE our best. We are getting experience from it and they get the experience of playing through it.
The same folks complaining about not taking a heavier hit when leaving or that SE needs to change it some way are the same folks I would bet that run ahead of everyone EVEN when they see new folks in a cut scene.
It may NOT be your first time in a duty, but it MIGHT be someone's first time in a duty and they deserve the same experience you did when you ran it the first time. You guys stop with the excuses and be more courteous to all players.

On the one hand, a fair argument. On the other hand, they did sign for the roulette knowing full well that Castrum is, if not the more likely outcome, at least equal in occurrence.
