RIGHT!? Is it really so unthinkable that I might want to repair my SCH, DRG, and FSH gear at the same time? Why does it take 22 clicks to do that?

Gil sinks are only good if players use them.

Those mounts have been very ineffective as gil sinks because only about 3% percentage of the player base has bothered to buy them according to the collection tracking websites. They're also a one time purchase. Once a character has the mount, there's no reason to buy again.

Things like repairs are something that everyone is paying not just once but repeatedly. You might only be paying about 1k a week for repairs but I'm generally paying 10-20k depending on how much crafting/gathering I'm doing.

So I spend 10-20k on repairs each week. I've spent 0 gil on either of the gil sink mounts. Which has ended up being the better gil sink in my case?

Both types are needed - the small that hit every player to slow down how fast gil is accumulating and the big to drain them from the players that have accumulated a large amount.

The mounts serve a different purpose. They're designed to take a huge chunk of gil all at once from the people are hoarding hundreds of millions. It's not supposed to be comparable to the small ongoing fees like repairs and teleports.

Or like crystals dont make them part of the main inventory? If done properly you could even then still make them sellable.

I've got an alt that I do no crafting on and have to visit the repair NPC to get things fixed. She's got more money than she needs so the repair costs aren't breaking her bank. I suggest making a habit of visiting the repair NPC each time you go to town or a quest hub. It's quick, easy, and you'll never have to worry about your gear breaking mid-quest or in a dungeon.

I mean, my crafters are still sitting at level 80. Maybe eventually I’ll level them — but the main reason I leveled them at all in the first place to was to repair my own gear to above 100% anytime I wanted, anywhere I wanted. As opposed to hunting down a mender every time they got low. Or having to leave a duty during progression because my gear is breaking. Bam—I can just repair it right then and there. Worth it for that alone.

Last time I checked, just because one guy finds the feature useless doesn’t mean it should be removed.

There’s a lot of people that saw those mounts and decided they weren’t worth the time of day to grind for. They’re just overpriced recolors of existing mounts that weren’t that difficult to get in the first place anyways.

Doesn’t seem that effective since not that many people take the time to grind up gil for them. Fairly certain more gil leaves the economy via gear repairs and purchasing Dark Matter by comparison.

I understand they serve a different purpose. That's why I concluded by saying
