Rework is good. I played MNK exclusively in ARR-ShB. Found it to be underwhelming for that duration and I find positionals to be an exceedingly busy, non-challenging way to make gameplay more frenetic/interactive for the player. I tend to enjoy the faster moving classes with lots of woven skills - GNB, SAM to name a couple.

The lack of developer-centric consideration in these forums is a little off-putting though. Did you ever consider that, from a content perspective, Monks have always been kind of...meh in the Final Fantasy series? And as a trope in general? Blitz was a good tangent to go on with the class I think, given that the most canonically powerful monk in the entire franchise is Sabin. I would have liked to see more callbacks to that character, but it is what it is right now. I expect more updates and adjustments in the future, but I think the way they've stripped it down to a foundational place in what we can only assume is preparation for more structure is a good thing.

That said, Monks might be some of the biggest whiners in the game. Give the dev team time to finesse stuff. This isn't your job, it's a game. If you tie your sole experience in the game to one class/job, you're going to find it wanting.

While you might find something busy/non-challenging, someone else might enjoy it and it could be the reason they enjoy the job. It has been said several times by not only me but others, not every job has to appeal to everyone. Monk had a unique position in being a fast paced, heavy positional job, which appealed to a specific audience. You even mentioned Samurai which is also busy, but in a different way.

Monk got virtually nothing in SB except replacements to things that they lost, double RNG chakra gain and a useless trait. ShB was a bit better, but the majority of it was AoE QoL (Four Point Fury and Enlightenment) and now in EW, various things have been taken away and given back in a different way and they took away the one thing that made Monk unique, the heavy positionals. Dragoon even beats Monk on positional usage and has a similar action rate, despite being a slower job GCD wise. It has been 3 expansions of not alot, especially when you compare it to other jobs. Monk just feels left behind and it is frustrating.

Garbage take. They've had from 2.0 until 6.0. The job has been in the state of "a good start" that entire time, and the people who seem happiest with the job are either contrarians like yourself who are trying to pretend to be the adult in the room, or people who used to create forum threads about the job that started with "I don't play Monk, but-"

Then pray tell, which job is busy but challenging and interactive for the player ?
