Each expansion feels like it has such an identity, but I really didn't think anything would top Shadowbringers. Not only was the story EXACTLY the kind of story I've always wanted but never really been delivered, but the music was so perfectly executed. It didn't just compliment each zone, but also helped give each space a slightly "alien" feel, ensuring you FELT like this was a completely different world from your own. My personal favorite was Amh Araeng, that music was just something I was NOT expecting for a desert zone! But somehow, it worked!
Without spoiling anything, I'll say the two stand-outs for me RIGHT NOW are the Baldesion Annex, and "the last zone". Seriously, it's almost becoming a PROBLEM, because every time I go there, I wind up getting side-tracked and just standing around while I listen to the music. Again, it manages to do something completely unexpected, while still fitting the zone beautifully.
But man, also the mid-boss theme is just on ANOTHER FREAKING LEVEL!! Seriously, that thing is a banger if there ever was one. So much so, in fact, it's inspired me to pick up my electric guitar again!
There's loads more praise I could give Endwalker (even if there are some bits I'm not as crazy on, or still processing), but just felt like chiming in with how much I am digging this game's music again!
