VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

Whenever this subject arises on the forums I always have the exact same type of people say the same thing to me, so I’ll just attempt at counteracting those comments by nipping them in the bud in this OG post. If anyone has any questions or would like to debate with me feel free to. Have fun reading this…. Err, Frequently Mentioned Comments?

“You chose to play a race with limitations”
No, I chose to play a race that, in SE’s words, were unique and would get more customisations overtime. Viera are the only race in the FF universe that appeal to me. I have been a Viera fan for 10+ years since I received XII on the ps2. My character and account is dedicated to the ivalician Viera. It is not my fault that the other races do not appeal to me and should not be shunned by the community for wanting SE to uphold their end of the deal.

“Just Fantasia”
No. Read above. Also £5 for a Fantasia just because these races are getting almost no TLC? That’s a temporary solution to the Viera and Hrothgar issue, it doesn’t solve the actual problem.

Whenever I get this comment I just can’t help but roll my eyes. The other races, who can wear all hairstyles and hats in the game have the audacity to act like they’d be so hard done by for not having Viera hair. Why don’t you Fantasia to a Viera if that’s the case? Oh wait- you don’t want to deal with the severe limitations, right? Why are you determined for Viera to constantly be “less than” your race? The developers made this crystal clear that both Hrothgar and Viera are too unique to be chucked into the same category as everyone else. These two races will NEVER be equal to the others in terms of headgear/potentially hairstyles so they deserve compensation for the limitations, just like SE originally said would happen. Deal with the divide and move on - maybe you’ll now think twice before begging SE for a new race when it’s obviously more work than they can handle. Let’s focus on what races we have now before requesting them to bring in new ones.

I know there will be people in the comment section who will attempt to essentially belittle my thread, so, I’ll just say this; you can admit when SE did a bad thing, it doesn’t make them a terrible company at all. It’s still my favourite gaming company & I’ve adored the FF franchise since I was a child and furthermore, we can’t deny their talent in both story telling and their passion for the game… but I will put my hands up and just say that this is not okay. The soul purpose of me creating my forum account was to bring fourth my ideas to the community and fight to make the Viera more appealing, but at this rate it’s looking bleak - I just want to be heard. This will be my final forum thread that I have started. I am sorry if people are tired of me posting the same thing.

Yoshi also did state that Viera and Hrothgar would be the last racial update this game would receive because of the time and resources put into making a new race is becoming astronomical

But yes. Let me change my hairstyle. Viera and Hrothgar aren't as unique as they thought because you'll run into your twin. Now, every race meets their twin, all the time, but you meet your entire family as a viera and hrothgar all the time xD

Also, as a bit of a side note, thank you for providing the most common not-so-helpful replies. I hate seeing these when we’re dealing with a video game. Something like “LUL, you knew this going in” - well, no we didn’t. We were told “more slowly than other races” not “you will forever have to dye your mane even on your class armor because the clipping is so bad, even the Gunbreaker trainer’s mane sticks out.” That’s not a “you’re whiny” thing - that’s just poor quality control.

I want them to have new racial specific hairs. Since they can't wear like 98% of hats without the use of modding, they should absolutely have more unique hairstyles to them. the same for hrothgar. its okay if they have a few of the "basic hairs" but they do need and deserve special hairstyles just for them. bc imo anything that isnt mog station or specifically female, everything is some sort of ugly mullet, rpg hero hair, or anime hair. i wouldnt want viera /hrothgar to have those uninspired hairs.

I would love to be able to equip hats. That they make it so Vieras can't equip reward hats from achievements make me so mad. It is literally nothing. And I also can't understand people who says that i should just use the mod to get wear hats but that is not a solution. I've waited along side you and i am getting more and more disappointed by every update where they say nothing about Viera or Hrothgar. Not even and explanation of why they can't or why it's taking so long. They are normally so clear about things like that but it's like they are just ignoring Viera and Hrothgars. Especially Hrothgars.
