    It sounds more like they've had a huge increase in support tickets where people have been complaining support won't help them because they used false information, probably related to all of the compromised accounts because people keep falling for the 300m gil raffle scams, etc.

    It's probably this, the announcement is weird since the only thing it lets you update is your address. If you have a wrong birthday/gender/name you can't do much about it. It sounds like they just want people to put the right address and know what information is put on their account.
