Saw the thread. Saw you thought this was new. Saw your join date. Laughed.
Because those totally did not exist before the "wow crowd" came, right >.>?Going through PF the last couple days, I see lots of “advertising” like:
“4k dps = instakick”
“no clowns please”
“2 fails = kick”
“know what to do there will be no talk or stay out”
“I’m doing this for 2 days please no more failures”
Generally stuff I would typically expect to see in WoW, also noticed a harshening of tone in duties like alliance raids.
It’s sad that the same thing has arrived here now.
I hate to say this but why some of the FFXIV players are so...brittle? I can't believe this escaped my notice, this...whinging.
Ugh.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I joined a raid on my alt for the first time for my msq.
I asked if there was anything I should know. They answered "Don't die kek" later in the raid they died![]()
Player
Tbf on their end they were probably laughing about it too. "Just don't die" is a pretty popular meme in circles I run in at least.
You can report this with the new well-thought-out rules of SE.Going through PF the last couple days, I see lots of “advertising” like:

This is considered harassment, a small ban should calm them down... or not.
In general, the groups that are less demanding down more easily Ex boss even if it takes 2 or 3 tries.
It's always less stupid than the "famous" farm groups that quit after the first wype when the boss was at 3% HP.
Not to mention, those who claim to be a group farm, but half of them die at each mechanic or those who ask for 575-585 to loot 580. But the stuff doesn't make up for the incompetence.
Not forgetting the famous kill for friend meaning: "Please PL Me" and the famous Loot by order of arrival, whose loot will go to the guy who created the PF.
The best solution is to leave and ban, it is always possible to find an unpretentious PF who are there to try it in blind and end up dropping it with a nice atmosphere.
And yes, this is the famous "mostly" pleasant and friendly FFXIV community...
It isn't the WoW players. It's the raider mentality.
This sort of environment about raiding is precisely why I don't do it. Learning to do new content and wanting to have the best gear and the like isn't a bad thing. So it is frustrating to see so many people try and gatekeep it under some misguided belief that raiders with experience are somehow better people than those who aren't the same.
Raiding became toxic a long time ago in MMOs and here is no different.
I going to disagree, it's not a MMO problem it's a PUG mentality problem. However, finding a raiding group with good vibes, or static, for sure take time and effort. Having a casual approach and letting gear help close the gap is available to anyone and there is not shame on it. Mayor problem here are players wanting to have the cake and eat it too.It isn't the WoW players. It's the raider mentality.

Truth be told the rigid raiding system in FFXIV does not help, but that's another topic.
