    6. Story issues
This most recent story was the most poorly paced and incongruous mess I have ever sat through. There are so many plot holes and time travel issues introduced with this narrative that from some points of view, it would be impossible for the WOL to even have done the things in the past to allow the things to happen as they have in the future.

Not only that, Meteion is the worst Deus ex Machina I have seen for quite some time, if she was so dangerous, and Hydaelyn/Venat knew about her for this entire time, why not warn us earlier? The whole thing just doesn't make any sense. The journey through Ultima Thule where the characters are being killed off was almost laughably obvious. We had already been introduced to the Mcguffin that would bring them back.

Overall, I absolutely adore this game and it's been a complete passion of mine for near enough a decade now. But seeing it go so down hill so quickly is such a shame. This whole expansion just reeks of lazy writing and cash grabbing. As of writing this they've just released a stripper pole on the MogStation... Really?

Feel free to lambast me as much as you want community. Tis what it is.

Agreed, the asinine use of Azem's Crystal to invalidate any emotional investment players had made in the Ultima Thule arc as well as the 'teleport me home' button simply destroyed any integrity the writers once had IMO.

It's beyond me why so many 'young male fans' are so giddy with excitement over this appalling end to the ARR arc .. it's FFXIV's equivalent of Game of Thrones Season 8.

No one is forcing you to play. You are free to exit and do something else.

Indeed, nobody is forcing us to play, however we are paying for a service and therefore have the opportunity to either congratulate or complain.

If you're in a restaurant and the food comes through half cooked or wrong, do you complain? For me it's the same principle, if you're paying for a service you have the right to comment about said service.

To take this away from a patron is nothing short of censure.

if I am at a restaurant, and the food is half cooked or wrong, unlike you, I dont feel the need to create a scene and complain... I just leave. some people like to create a scene and drama, and others, simply cant be bothered if expectations arent met. life is too short to spend it whining. just move on. life is much happier that way.

no one is taking away your ability to whine about things you dislike. but its a little entitled to take it as a "right" to complain, since thats only a one way street (unless you subscribe to WoW who feels its their right to complain about the subscribers right back)

Isn’t criticism what caused 1.0 to be rebuilt from the ground up? The phrase ‘the developers are listening’ is often praised and if a game developer outright said ‘If you don’t like it than leave’ - they’d likely be hit with bad PR in response.

considering the unprecedented disaster of 1.0... you are actually comparing 1.0 to EndWalker?

And the restaurant learns nothing in the process. Ever watched an episode of Kitchen Nightmares? It may be hammed up TV drama, but a recurring theme in failing businesses is restaurant owners who refuse to acknowledge feedback and identify what they're doing wrong or where they could better please their customers. Why do you think businesses fixate so much on gaining customer feedback, to the point of sometimes hounding them for it? Although one does not need to "create a scene" or be dramatic about it, and do the whole "call your manager" schtick, complaints are very much part of the learning process for businesses. It is ignorant to think otherwise and arrogant to simply dismiss them or discourage them. If you don't like them as a consumer? Whatever. Move on, stop trying to tell others not to.

Telling someone to just quit the game isn't mere "disagreement" though, is it? Wonder what SE would think of some of its customers telling other customers to stop consuming its product simply because they're doing what it, like any serious company, expects them to do, and provide feedback?

Yes I'm sure the minority of a thread telling someone to get out is a fairly solid trend /s

It's ironic that we talk about feedback though - Because this exact thread is just a solid argument of why the developers aren't exactly rushing out of their seats to develop new and innovative content when we have people busting out their fists over a lost dungeon, or a lost level 89 gearset, or the reuse of certain assets "cuz mah quota". Many people don't understand that development time is a finite resource. The developers branching out and developing content such as Ishgard Restoration, Ocean Fishing, Island Sanctuary, or Deep Dungeon is always going to cause certain cuts in other areas of the content.

Furthermore, just because a particular individual does not see a certain element of the game as a concern it does not mean that others do not. I don't do high end raiding, though I wouldn't say that players who do have no validity when providing feedback just because it doesn't interest me specifically.

The thread's premise is primarily about a lack of content, however - which has been a common point of feedback for years at this point.
The argument in the absolute vast majority of cases comes from the angle of people that very selectively use their points of data, instead of looking at the whole picture, which is always going to result in a very inaccurate assessment. People can cry about the lack of deep dungeon or extra dungeon per patch, responsively the argument could be made that no previous expansion had faux hollows, ocean fishing, ishgard restoration or a large scale savage raid encounter which was previous requested, or the expansion that Bozja had over Eureka including Dalriada, the presence of 'challenging' 1 vs 1 encounters.

I'm pretty sure worst is said pretty much everyday in /yell or even /say. They don't care, because those same people bring in more people, that's just how communities evolve.
