I honestly have to agree with this, despite the tone being a bit harsh.

It's been over two years at this point. That thread was initially created in 5.01 and has been actively on the front page of the tank forum since then.

Because of their low quality, I was under the impression that the current sounds were a holdover until new sfx could be refined and pushed, but there have been no indications that any work is planned for that.

It really feels like it was a knee jerk reaction after some complaints in the first few weeks, where they proceeded to ignore literal years of feedback after the fact.

hope i was not being to harsh lol. but it is quite ridiculous that there not even been so much a peep or response towards something that has been complained about for awhile. the initial complaint for what I have heard was only a few people, and it got changed to what we now. but when a ton of people want it changed back, they dont even bat an eye. they could implement some system Im sure where you can swap out sounds in the option menu.

That number in the strawpoll actually got reset a year or so back. It made it up to at least a thousand votes, but had the same results.

We were actually able to raise the issue to the devs in a Q and A, but they basically just said "wait and see. you might like it."
The whole thing kinda boggles my mind.
