I just hate that they cant design stuff with capes to be cut different for tailed races. I mean when half your player base is playing a race with a tail.....maybe start taking it into account when designing the outfits from the onset.
Because I could find a use for it in a glam if it wasn't so horrid on the tail clipping
Smoll indie company, please understand.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I like it
I'm glad it's not modern clothes or something overly revealing/ cutesy for once
But I wish XIV designers would remember they have 2 races with tails & they keep making designs that ignore the tailed races
So far, several of the armor sets have just been re-skins & they weren't even swapped to fit other jobs- which is the least they could have done if anything- I'd have liked to see the Neo Ishgardian healing top on Caster this time for example.
Yoshi-P & armor design team- please remember there are 2 races with tails & making capes is fine, but there is zero innovation when it comes to tailed races & clipping
That is somewhat good news though, if the designers keep implementing capes & other armors that clip, it means they can give us long hair & that clipping isn't a viable excuse anymore, right???

Do we really need yet another basic catgirl in contemporary clothing with every single patch? By the gods get a personality.
Disappointed in pretty much all of the new gear. The new tome gear makes most of my jobs look like vanilla dragoons, the treasure glam is just awful, and the new crafted sets are quite literally just recolors of old PVP gear(even worse since half of it doesn't dye properly). The market value on the new treasure glam doesn't seem to be very popular either and the price has already dropped 2-3M since this morning. It will likely sell for less than the rebel set within a week which is just sad.
The issue with the gear visuals/reuse seems to be a running problem for most of the pieces this expansion. I'm not actively working to acquire any gear that has been released since the start of the expansion beyond power upgrades. Everything on my list is all older stuff.
I really hope this isn't how things are going to be going forward now.

I'm pleased that it's more fitting to the setting of the game, but does EVERYTHING this expansion have to have a cape?

Will say it again. Not super thrilled about it. It looks like generic Ren' Faire attendee clothes.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

What bothers me most is that we still have such bad cloak psyhics. I like the design too, only that it never feels good to have a cape/cloak equipped.. D:
I adore it! I'm thankful there isn't a whole different model for male and female characters. Will definitely be putting this on a plate.

Honestly, I like how they toned down the extravagance of a lot of gear this expansion. The aiming crafted gear, for example, looks a lot like a traditional western rpg bard rather than … Amon.
