Healer design is still terrible and I'm tired of apologizing for it.

If someone is BIS has cleared extremes and normals in EW that should tell you they can “handle it”

And how do they suppose to believe that you can "handle it"? You telling them that is a gamble at best because they do not know you nor your history. It is still a gamble that might waste their group's time in case you actually couldn't prove what you have claimed. Don't get me wrong. Some groups will still be willing to trial, but don't be surprised when people outright refuse because not everything is rainbow and unicorn: liars & the plain oblivious aren't so uncommon.

What I'm trying to say is, at best it sounds like an empty promise. A few clears means nothing when said person cannot prove consistently to their own claim.

To clear content easier & faster? The same content you've already so many times? Is that satisfying?

To me, it would be quite boring. So there being other goals is expected, and normal.

Honestly, if it brought Hyomin back into the healer forums, not really.

Hyomin's insight on topics is always completely invaluable. You haven't been around to see her and Sebazy have conversations; epic is a word that does not bring justice to it.

I miss when we had actual discussions in this section of the forums, now we just argue with people who don't understand the role, don't want to , and absolutely REFUSE to. Maybe now we can actually get some real discussion back into this section.

i think the reason theres no discussion anymore is because it's run its course. how many times must we get to the same conclusions that the healer kits dont match the encounter design? how many times must we muse about how to fix the issue only to see the game go in the exact opposite direction?

if anything i hope this fuzzy mu11in person realizes eventually that if healing got any more "accessible" wed just have players walking around with a permanent invincibility buff.

I think my headache maximum came during Heavensward with that Sylphie who claimed the only reason healer DPS was possible was because healers were "cheating", and that tortured logic hole was more outlandish than what we've got now.

IIRC, the train of "thought" was: the developers intend classes to play the way they were designed. Therefore deviating from that design is cheating. Regen is designed to counter poisons and DoTs, Cure is designed to cover normal damage spikes. Even though it's mathematically stronger, using heal-over-time effects to cover normal outgoing damage using HoTs like Medica 2 or Embrace is against their designed purpose, and therefore approaching content in a way it wasn't designed, and therefore cheating. Healers must Cure spam as God intended, and using emergency tools to open damage windows is cheating.

The current crop of trolls is pretty tame compared to that.

As one of those players, yes. Getting gear to essentially do nothing with isn't fun. Using said gear to try and continuously improve my performance is. Not say anything negative towards players who just wanna get their weeklies done and move on but I, personally, find that incredibly boring. To each their own.

Is that why come week 20 of Eden's Promise players in full i530 gear were still seeing mechanics that other groups regularly skipped entirely? Or why supposed "farm" parties for the two current EXs have players who die several times to the same handful of mechanics? Obtaining "BiS" doesn't mean squat if the player isn't skilled enough to actually do anything with it.

I can only agree for Ex1 since there is zero reason to learn that fight. Just pop expedient and follow the triangle.

It's almost like we have an entire community dedicated to beating Video games fast.

Clearing raids fast is no different than a player Role Playing to have more fun with the game. It's not my type of activity but don't belittle those eho find joy in it.
