Nah, he's right on this one. If you are above level 80 you should be responsible for knowing the most if not all mechanics from MSQ battle content to that point.

I mean to an extent I agree that you should have an idea of what to do for most of the mechanics by that point (assuming you didn't boost), but I don't agree that people should be barred from participating in group content just because they don't know what they're doing.

Like this is gonna sound kinda jaded, but imo nobody should go into a roulette expecting people to perform well. Not to say they shouldn't BE expected to, like they reasonably should at least put in an effort imo. What I mean is, set the bar low, avoid disappointment.

The reality is that a random roulette with random players is a grab bag, and the only way to guarantee a certain level of skill in the group is to make your own. Bring friends along. Or run the risk that people will be clueless. Then it's up to you whether to kick them, leave, or deal with it, but the fact is they have every bit as much freedom to be there as you or anyone else does.

May I suggest you use the Trust system when doing a dungeon for the first time? May I suggest that you please queue in duty finder once you actually understand the mechanics.

I do not know how the average skill level in Duty Finder has decreased by 80% over the past few weeks but I guess anything is possible!!!

Gonna be a shocker but DF are very rarely decent even before the flood of wow players.

OP is blocked, but judging by the responses it's easy to see what kind of nonsense he's trying to pull this time.

That being said, I prefer people doing dungeons with other people for the first time. That's just bonus tomes for everyone. I've yet to be in a situation as a healer where I can't carry people's lack of knowledge or simple mistakes with a simple res. Heck, even tanks can die and we still wont wipe. New tank wants to single pull packs? I'll let them know we can both handle more but I also let them know it's totally fine to do it how they want to as well.

Elitists in this game are control freaks, but in a dungeon? That's just... pathetic.

Trusts are also great too if you do want to learn to mechanics first, but by no means should anyone ever feel required to use them to do so. Dungeons are as casual of content as you get in this game and if someone actually has hurt feefees over someone making mistakes and their run taking 45 seconds longer they're really in need of a Karentervention.

My partner browses the forums and sees posts like this and thinks they're genuine - because that's what he's used to in other gaming forums. He played WoW for years, this was the expectation and the norm for him.

It's important to at the very least respond with some form of "This isn't how most people feel, do what you will,", because unlike us who know this is a low effort troll, others aren't going to be able to figure this out. And simply saying "this is a troll," doesn't work because, well, in what way is it a troll? To an outside reader, it reads the same as any other forum post on any other gaming forum.

I've been around the WoW forums forever, and it's just as bad if not worse. Perhaps he was on the EU WoW forums and maybe they're different, but the US WoW forums are a dumpster fire as epic as the NA General Forum here.

Actually thinking about it, while the moderation on the WoW forums is pretty bad, it's much "better" than this forum. And by better I mean exists.

Because people say shit like OP does with 100% sincerity a lot. This likely isn't the first time most people in this thread are hearing it or something similar. Whether in XIV or in other games. And time has proven that when you do just ignore it, they assume they're right and go on to just double down on their weird petty elitism and assume everyone else agrees with them.
