He really put it into mind how they stripped healers to being the same thing, different skin.
Pretty much all play the same. Originality is out the door.
I still miss old AST and I am still 'angy' about it, too. :/

That said, since the whole "more intensive healing" has fell on deaf ears...
How do you guys feel about healers being shifted into a more "support dps"?

We will still heal but maybe cut down on redundant skills and give us more fighty stuff to play with.
I would like to go that route if they can't fix healers being bloated
with several of the same heals and abilities, just to heal and shield...nothing.

Would you like to see the healers with more DPS skills and less " 5 different skills that say 'Heal potency up / Shields'"?
    Just throwing some idea's around.

I understand, however, how come it only happened when Stormblood released? ARR was made in mind first for PS3 and PC -- if that limitation was there, why were all the DoTs there to begin with, if the system cannot/difficultly handle it?
I do get why they would have been removed in ARR/HW. But by the time SB released, these numbers were already in check. It's even going further in EW with Ninja.. was it really necessary to begin with, then?

I'll be honest, when I entered the Tower of Zot for the first time, seeing Krile casting Aero III on the first mob pack really broke my heart
I understand why things have to change. I don't think anyone is going to be really sad that Stella or Drain got deleted, but -- yeah. I miss Silent Dusk and Apocatastasis a lot. I wish those got replaced in some fashion than binned entirely.

Arr had quite a few bad ideas theyve been phasing out for awhile or they remove and add back in. Ff14 have a pattern to their adjustments but some of these bad ideas still exist. Nin has more animation lock and it took from HW to EW to make Enochian a passive.

You still have to turn tank stance on etc.

Honestly? At this point I think every role can be seen as a 'support dps'.

Red icons are supports with more damaging capacity & few but effective utilities.
Blue icons are supports with more capabilities to control overall damage taken by parties.
Green icons are supports with more hp restorative & 'oopsie' buttons when things go south. Oh right...

Why did they have to change? Really why did scholar lose so much dps when really that’s what this game is designed around? Why did ast lose time delay abilities and cards? You could still make card def mitigation dps and even add debuff cards to use on enemies like a auto attack slow. How does healers being different hurt the game?

It probably makes less people play healers and that's what matters at the end of the day.

For example I main scholar, and leveled whm to 80 last expansion and played it. But when I got to astro? And I had to manage cards/healing/divination/specific rng/ETC ETC only at LEVEL 50? I hated the job for making me work so freaking hard compared to scholar, and stopped playing it.

I can definitely understand that playing very busy jobs can feel stressful to some, but it’s that very business and frequency of ability interaction that makes certain classes fun for many of us.

I viewed it as a learning experience. I leveled SCH back in ARR and it was actually hard to do. Esuna wasn't a role action so dungeons like Brayflox were actually fairly challenging for SCH to do because the DoT on the last boss was an absolute hassle to heal thru back then. You had to manage your fairy because keeping her on auto pilot would result in her blowing all her abilities back to back and you'd be stuck since you didn't really have an other oGCD heals at the time, outside of Lustrate at 50. it was a challenging experience and when I found my static back in ARR, they had me go on my SCH because I had it leveled and despite my initial reluctance, we cleared Coils and I gained a level of respect for SCH. I enjoyed my WHM more sure but I respected SCH as a class because it was generally a difficult but engaging class to play. It had a tactical feel to it, being proactive in its healing approach in a number of different ways, from the Slow effect on Shadowflare to managing my Fairy, with Selene being a reward for good planning and Eos being the heavy lifter when a group needed that extra level of padding to get thru a run. It all felt good to properly utilize it to its maximum potential and I enjoyed that aspect of it. Nowadays though, while the class still has some minute levels of planning involved in its gameplay, it's a mere shadow of its former self and I miss that feeling of engagement I once had for the job.

I get making a job more streamline to get more players to try it out but gutting it like they did was much more than it needed and it's still a fairly clucky class to play to this day so I don't think they did a good job with it at all.

There was talk of hard small group content. If this comes true I hope it will actually require healing.

My hunch it'll be one raidwide that drops everybody's HP down to 30% from full health followed by 15 to 30 seconds of boring ticklish auto attacks to the tank before another mechanic happens.
Oh right, failed a mech? That's 1 vuln stack for that DPS. You better heal that DPS to -full- otherwise next raidwide will oneshot!

    Stimulating...
