Here's something for you to chew on and I truly hope that you do rattle it around in the noggin for a bit.

You assume that, just because the purpose of the video was to highlight a new feature, that the concerns OP posts are invalid due to your belief that it might not be showing BLM doing the kind of damage they will really do when the patch hits.

You are then using this assumption to make an argument that the OP should not make an argument based on his assumption that it might be accurately depicting what BLM can do.

I for one am not assuming the information on the video is wrong. I am simply expressing my appreciation for the very high probability that it is, based on context and precedence.

It can very well be correct. Even if it is correct, the BLM is not in AF gear and thus still not accurate in comparison to THM.

That is why my point is that none of us will know until the patch hits.

I manage a thread that's based entirely on questions about the job system. It's been around for months and had multiple dev responses. I think I know what I'm talking about when it comes to jobs, what's been answered, and what we don't yet know.

They posted a video that gave information about spell cancelling. Yoshi P also posted 2 walls of text to explain in further detail the mechanics behind the movement-based spell cancelling and the /facetarget feature. That video was very accurate in that regard.

This very same video, that the OP is basing almost everything he says on, had no intention of accurately displaying the damage capabilities of BLM. Anything quantitative in that video is subject to change. Furthermore, every video SE has released pior to a patch that shows content has had inaccurate numbers when it comes to damage done/taken. This has been repeatedly mentioned by people posting in this thread, and is more than enough to discount any credibility the damage values of the spellcasting video have. Sleep wasn't even running on a cooldown. It's very clearly being played in a sort of dev mode.

In conclusion, the spellcasting video was very accurate when it came to displaying spellcasting changes. As a bonus, we got to see he animation for Burst, as well as the new icon on the action bar that indicates if we are moving or not. Anything beyond that is subject to change and was irrelevant for the purpose of that video therefore did not need to be accurate.

SE is only trolling you with false representations if they claim they are showing you one thing, but then show it inaccurately. They did not claim that video showed the offensive abilities of BLM.

I'm not assuming. I'm doubting.

There is nothing that requires an answer before the patch.

Perhaps the only question I can think of pertaining to BLM that I'd like answered right now is whether or not the 3 AMs will share cooldowns. I know there will be a riot of they do, and how little sense it makes that they would, so if I'm assuming anything, it's that they won't share cooldowns. I would have gladly pursued an answer for this question a month ago, because I'd be able to provide my feelings on the matter for their consideration then. There is absolutely nothing anyone here will gain by knowing if the 3 AMs share cooldowns 2 days before the patch goes live.

That's why I'm asking what question is so imperative that it cannot wait 2-3 days? I'm not asking what questions the OP has, or what questions anyone else has. I'm asking what question is there that is so time-sensitive at this point, and what kind of answer do you expect?

Do any of you think that Bayohne is gonna come in this thread and post something like:

This tread is primarily about Jirya voicing his concerns over BLM with his main source material being the spellcasting video.

Really? So based on prior evidence of FFXIV as a whole, we could also make the argument that OP is correct since time and again SE has introduced things into this game that completely boggle the mind or just plain don't work. Evidence is static in nature. It is either there or it isn't. Past instances of events do not provide evidence of anything other than their own existence.

Scenario:

Two Tuesdays ago I tried a new recipe and it smelled great, but then I ate it and it was awful. Last Tuesday the same thing happened. I tried a new recipe and it smelled amazing, but it was god awful. I'm cooking a new recipe tonight and it smells wonderful. I think I'm just going to throw it away though because the last two Tuesdays provided proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that it will taste awful. Am I right?
