    Banning parsers outright would destroy their entire raid scene and SE knows. The gray only benefits them as the players who enjoy damage meters are satisfied yet SE doesn't have to police anything. All the good with none of the hassle.

    Even if SE did want to disallow parsers. They would then have to force players to install some form of DRM to actually see what you have on your PC. Considering how universally despised DRM is. I doubt they want to go down that route even if they did care about parsers.

    Basically this.

    For all the arguments parsers bring, imagine the level of rage and reeee'ing that the forums, reddit, etc would become if they had to install some type of DRM into the game to check to see if someone was running a parser.

    That's why bans are only handed out if definitive proof is shown via a chatlog, or harassment occurs.
