Yes and no. The long-distance travel we did was using the energy of the Mothercrystal and fueled by the primals the beastmen summoned for us -- we just don't have enough fuel to go willy-nilly around the galaxy anymore with the Ragnarok's plot engine. That is, unless the writers want us to, then yeah sure we can use some other energy source. The Moon is also really, really slow, that's why the Loporrits needed housing and food production and stuff there for a long trip.
Aside from not being able to get more, no. However,2. We used the giant crystal for fuel.... is that a problem?we're not really the only ones who used it for fuel. Zenos did as well, and although he's dead, his Reaper phantom is MIA. And that dude ate both the leftovers of Zodiark (Zenos jumped out of the hole Big Z was in on the moon, and had the same red glow as that aether) AND Hydaelyn (he gorged on the mothercrystal's leftovers to teleport and help us out.) So uh, that phantom might come back.
Well, maybe, but I'm not sure how it'd be much different from other jobs functionally. Reaper is a job that uses the energy of the Void, and not so much Aether, so anything's possible.3. Will we have a job based on dynamis?
If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!
Did you even read what that one guy posted? If this was twitter he’d literally say to kill myself lol.
I’m not attacking anyone , look at my post history . I’m just participating in a discussion on the forums. If it bothers you so bad then report the thread and let mods take it down.
That said I feel like the lore topic has been covered enough over 28 pages but I don’t have the power to lock this thread so /shrug/

So many people can't handle discourse anymore. You challenge their views with a different opinion and instead of solidifying their stance. They switch to believing themselves to be the only right one in the conversation. When that happens whatever you were going to gain from said discourse just evaporates.

I have issues with this expansion's story and lore but my biggest gripe is not even related to the time travel shenanigans other people have trouble with: it happens in Garlemald. And no, it's not that one instanced battle either.
After you find the first refugee group whom have been fed so much propaganda that they're unable to make their own braincells work under the current circumstances and 2 women would rather be brutally murdered in the snow by beast than try their lot with "savages" it becomes pretty clear that it may not be possible to reason with them. What's the next thing that happens after going back to camp? Alphinaud and Alisaie decide to throw themselves into the most blatant sacrificial pit ever in a silver platter with everything to lose.
When they got surrounded in the train they could have been killed right there, that very moment, and their "sacrifice" would have been for some naive idealism, serving no-one, when they had far more important things to do for the good of the entire star. All because they got OBSESSED with trying to help dangerous people who have the Garlean standard stuck far too deep inside their arses to assess the situation. They don't have their minds being corrupted by a primal or anything the like, they have working brains, they just decide to not use them. As much as they want to help these people there's a line to be drawn where it not only compromises their own safety but also their most important mission which in turn compromises far more people.
Why do I have such a big issue with this? Because it destroys all of Alphinaud's character development of many years, of maturing and acknowledging the harsh realities of the world and shedding away the naive idealism he held in ARR. You can't convince me that this Alphinaud was written by the same person who wrote SHB Alphinaud's attitude towards Eulmore and its society, openly stating its problems and how they're responsible for their own actions, without sugarcoating it.
And the worst part is that most of that section while they had been taken hostages was actually really good, but I couldn't get myself to take it seriously when the premise of how they got in that situation in the first place is flawed. It would have been great if they had ended in that situation due to something else that made more sense and that didn't undo character development.

And something else that bothers me is the nonsense in the final area. Something something emotions controlling the place. I can get how talking their way into an irredeemably hopeless simulacrum can reveal it to be Meteion but how winning that moral battle ends up with the scions being deconstructed (they win... to lose anyway?) and then turning into a bridge? I get the part that being reduced to pure dynamis could make it possible for them to manipulate that space but it's all so... nebulous and unclear... yet they seem to be super clear on knowing how the process works... am I the only one who doesn't get what the hell is going on and what they're doing? And am I supposed to enjoy this nonsense I'm not understanding as the end to this entire saga? And you know what the most insulting part is? Each time the way forward seemed to be something so simple that I can't help but feel like there could have been another way that didn't require such "sacrifice".
And lol Zenos. At times it looked like he could have been an interesting villain but he turned out to be just a power level monster whom even admits EXPLICITLY that he has no good reason to be the way he is and that having a reason wouldn't have changed the outcome. Which is short for "we couldn't be bothered to write a compelling backstory for him but you don't need one anyway, trust us."
And there's also the primals. After being such a big problem since the beginning of the game they suddenly tell you "lol they've been summoning them the wrong way all this time, there was a proper way". In 2 lines of dialog. Almost like a footnote.
