Please fix the “naked queueing” for Aliance Raids

Are we really so strapped for things to talk about that we need to necro this post?

Unlike many other petty things people make threads about...I think the roulette system is a pretty core feature of FFXIV that is inherently broken. And until it is fixed to actually work as intended and give players a broader range of content to regularly play, I think repeatedly bringing it to the forefront of discussion is justifiable.

How do you know how much time you need when some of the alliance raids vary wildly? That's part of the reason people cheese to que for crystal tower, its consistent timing. HW alliance raids are much tougher especially when people don't get them often (Yes that is a problem) but they are also longer if they go smoothly anyways. If your planning your time would you rather something that takes 18-21 every time or something that ranges from 18-45+? I've been in some HW raids where we bashed our heads for about a hour. No-one left but if that was the norm I wouldn't que for alliance raids for the amount of xp they give.

When you go to the dentist or any other appointment, do you require them to tell you a range of how long it is going to take? No, you probably don't. You accept that it can vary and plan accordingly. The game is no different. Everyone else shouldn't have to fit their schedule around yours or vice versa. It isn't the end of the day if you miss a daily. I'm always of the mind that if you can't commit to the content, then you don't deserve the reward.

They should fix this cheat, and honestly it’s super easy. Once you have the [DUTY COMPLETE] flag enabled for a 24 man raid, you simply get included in the roulette regardless of what you are wearing, and if the queue pops and you don’t meet the ilvl requirements you simply can’t hit accept until you do and it counts towards your penalty, kind of like when you switch to crafter jobs when waiting for dps queues. The only exception to this rule should be when your job level you queue with is below the alliance raid requirements.

The other alternative is that once you reach a new alliance raid level like say 70, you need to be minimum ilvl “X” to register. And so on, that would include all raids to that point.

It's actually very few people who do this. Just look in your party list next time, you'll notice most people use Alliance Roulette for levelling characters

If you want tokens is actually more efficient to run expert repeatedly. Even after you've run it once that day, subsequent runs still give 80-160 tomes because each boss gives some tomes - and you can have it on farm pretty quickly.

Alliance raid though, gives a lot of experience, so it's a great way to take a break from endless grinding in Bozja, and if you can keep it to one of the easy ones it's not too bad on time efficiency as compared to other choices. As long as you don't get the Stormblood one, it's always at least worth the time to complete it. That of course sucks for anyone wanting to run the Shadowbringers one to get 2B cosmetics they didn't manage to get last expansion... but that is a dwindling crowd (even if it does include me for the raids after the first one - I'll just get that "eventually").

I see I am not the only one tired of Crystal tower every bloody time. so I'm gonna paste my own forum post from an earlier topic:
My idea for a fixed alliance roulette to tell it short:
You MUST qualify for the highest available alliance raid.
that means if you are level 60, you must have at least the first Void Ark unlocked and have the required item level.
same goes for Ivalice at 70, and Nier at 80.
Many of us are sick and tired of signing up for what is basically a glorified Crystal Tower roulette.

when I play roulettes, I do it for two main reasons.
exp and variety. if all I wanted was to run the same shit over and over I' do trusts or queue for highest level dungeon.
Tomes are ofcourse nice, but not my main focus for doing roulettes.

I can make an argument simpler than that.

I ask you, why do roulettes exis?
Yes, they give you extra when you do them, that's to get you to do them, not the reason for them to exist.
They exist to make ques get shorter. All roulettes exist to make sure that a new player going through the game gets the best possible experience, ques as short as possible.
To a lesser extent this continues into making sure nobody is stuck in a que forever, with mentor roulette collecting all the leftovers.

Having established that, take a brief look at morality, if you are okay with doing a thing, in order to be a moral action you'd have to be okay with everybody doing the same thing. Yes, this is the shortest, stupidest possible definition, sorry.

So, what happens if everybody, lit. everybody enters the alliance roulette wearing only enough ilvl to get into crystal tower.
All alliance roulette runs become crystal tower.
Everybody waiting in a que for anything else does not get the benefit of the intended purpose of roulettes.

If naked tower que is moral than roulettes don't get to function as previously defined, thus breaking the function of roulettes.

One last thing, this isn't rare, it happens all the time, literally everytime I queue I get CT and I see someone changing into their gear. This is one of the benefits of having a good SSD and a fast PC. You can see the people load in naked and start equipping gear as soon as they load in.

This is such a funny thing. That people see all these naked people. I que for something and go mine, my gear changes. The system only registers what you are wearing when you click to que. They could literally put all the gear right back on after queing. Or if they were afraid they could sit as a miner and then switch when que pops.



People are smart enough to use the system, but not smart enough to look bad doing it?

They could literally put all the gear right back on after queing. Or if they were afraid they could sit as a miner and then switch when que pops.

if they dont have the mental capacity to sit through a Void ark, or god forbid an Ivalice raid, you really think they are gonna equip their gear beforehand?
I've seen mentors use this trick and not equip their gear before entering the raid, MENTORS.

My question is, why are you upset that people don't wanna do 60+ raids? I personally enjoy the 70 raids for the music but still would prefer to just get the alliance raid out of the way since I'm looking for a fast run for my exp/tomes.
