I very rarely see healers using rescue. Though, I have been running SGE more than I run as DNC lately...but when I do run DNC I tend to never see any healer use rescue. I've used it a couple times since Sunday, mostly to pull sprouts into the safe areas if they will end up dying, but always just to stop death if I can help it

I told people here healers were using rescue (badly) much more frequently lately! I'm just lucky to not have seen so many outright trolls as some of you, I suppose.

I can only recall seeing it used one time since Endwalker launched, and that was yesterday. A healer in Rabanastre was trying to save a dps from themselves, so they hit Rescue. Unfortunately, this was also what killed the dps. AoEs spawned right under them lol The healer apologized. Repeatedly. They felt really bad about that.

I feel like 9 out of 10 times when Healers use Rescue it's unnecessary or essentially as a taunt or the Healer being douchey.

Not saying Healers couldn't and shouldn't use Rescue appropriately, just that they don't.
They'll leave the sprout to die in AoE but they'll make damn sure to sprint ahead and ninja pull then Rescue the tank into the mobs

Ah this is absolute happiness of finally clearing holminster switch with no wipes as Sage through wall to wall pulls
It felt awful since every run i had good tanks cycling through defense cd and dps doing work but for some reason my mind just could not get used to Sage's kits.
Finally went that through and the tank was sad he couldn't wall to wall in the final section,

I also understand how rough it can be for new sage players, it is definitely a different feel

Sage gets you into the habit of relying on cooldown management rather than spammable large heals. It's very similar to scholar. When it hits the fan and no cooldowns are left, though. I'm forced to rely on e-diagnosis spam while praying for a crit.

Pepsis is a weird substitute for emergency tactics as well, however it will heal the full amount no matter how much of the shield is left, so as long as you're quick it'll work in a pinch.

Regen just before I pull mobs...WHY? Why tho? Seriously, why?

At some point these healers have to ask themselves why every group of adds they encounter in a dungeon runs past their tank and elbow drops them half to death, while I am back tracking trying to scoop up half of the adds because to top it off the aoe hit box is also super suss when moving.

Just wait 4-5 seconds, let the adds converge on me, let me pop my aoe...then you can swiftcast your regen for all I care xD

I can see how that could get annoying, but honestly I do that myself a few seconds prior to the pull; however I'm always right behind my tank anyways so the tank doesn't have to run around to grab anything off from me. Heck, I got in the habit of being right behind or beside the tank even if I'm not playing a healer. It just makes things easier for everyone, and I don't like standing off in Narnia and expecting to be saved!

If healers do slap a regen on the tank, it's better for them to get in the habit of following your tank literally until you're almost on top of them for it to make things easier. Even better if you're a Sage and you use Icarus to fly over to your tank's side (I do like using Icarus a lot!)

Icarus is amazingly awesome - especially on stack markers - it's refreshes fast, but I'd kill for two charges on it. Once in, and once out.

...but yep, running along on the tank's heels works best for uninteded healer agro. Even with that, some tanks don't like any healing during the run... which mucks em up with Kardia anyway if they didn't grab the loose mob.
