One of my hope and wish for this expansion is we no longer have House of Splendor for our gear and Gerolt for our relic. The first obviously has been disappointed, and I doubt the 2nd will change. No thing against the two but they're pretty much just meme at this point.

Most of the MMO will introduce a new faction to give the new gears some kind of lore. It's probably one of the most un-creative part of FF14.

I'd be very upset if they removed Gerolt from this. The running gag of him being enslaved to Rowena but also secretly loving it (both ways) is pretty great. I hope they get married one day. I think you misunderstand the creative part here. Other games will throw random things together and that is really easy to do. I can come up with new lore in a matter of seconds just like anyone else but to build from existing lore, that is different and powerful. You're really going to tell us that the writers of Final Fantasy XIV has poor creative vision? Really?

How exactly creating faction with back story tied to the expack "random"? What other MMO you played that do this, please let me know so I can avoid it.

And ever since 3.0 we had stopped receiving any kind of explanation about what the new tome are, all we know is each patch cycle we get a new color of tome to collect with like ... minimum context behind it. If you call that creative, I would question where you standard is. Each expansion pack you're given a handful of line where the new Rowena girls basically "oh hey we're setting up shop here come do business!" with the same tired old memes 10 years straight, yes I would call that poor creative vision.

I mean, we went to the first in 5.0 where the Allagn does not even exist, yet we still somehow collect their tomes. Yo, that's not even poor creative vision, just straight up laziness.


The story between Gerolt and Rowena is nice but we already knew about it since like what, 6-7 years ago. At this point it's the same old thing dragging out ala Naruto 999th episode. So yes, I would call it uncreative.
