Offensive wise DRK is excellent, I really enjoy the rotation personally is really fun for me, but the CD management on defensive cds feels bloated and not as efficient compared to other tanks.
Could merge some cds like dark mind and shadow wall, improve TBN to provide a bit of self sustain given that all other tanks got some and merge oblation with dark missionary. Also make Blood weapon a 5 charge thingy to follow the logic of Delirium and Inner Release.

Quietus actually had MP restore for most of Stormblood, no Blood Weapon required. From the Patch 4.05 Notes:
Quietus - The additional effect "Restores own MP" has been added.
Ahh, I see. I misremembered. So the primary/unique BW contribution was just the Blood gen?
Either way, I quite enjoyed avoiding tank stance once BW was ready so I could then do Nascent levels of self-healing off DA-AD when flushed with mana from self-refunding BW-(DA-)Quietus casts.

I'd say the unique thing was the speed, with Blood Weapon making the DRK attack 10% faster. It did generate MP and Blood as well, and the Blood generation was 3 Blood per physical attack (Weaponskill and Autos, not Spells). Still pissed we lost that sweet Blood Weapon Haste, ShB/EW DRK just feels too slow most of the time.

Something about the storm blood DRK sat well with me and I can't remember what it was. I loved plunging around targets and just chunking things but I've felt so slow and anemic since then.


You may be speaking about using old abilities like dark arts, blood price and old blackest night due to the fact had they had such a good synergy between each other? (i may be saying nonsense, feel free to say so in case)
At least for me it was always a pleasure to see blood and mana being linked in a certain way by the use of the blackest night and seeing these two "gauges" (blood and mana) going up and down so fast as you were dishing out your abilities and destroying your enemies.
Even if there was downtime during those fights i can't even remember it due to how the combat flow was with those abilities, they acted so well between each other.
(i'll always prefer the heavensward Dark Knight but i won't deny i also liked the stormblood one.)

Yeah, despite being stripped of a fair amount of stuff, Stormblood DRK had a neat gameplay loop of basically ping ponging MP/Blood until you started to just become a fountain of both. Resource generation and management became a looooot slower for Shadowbringers, sadly.

If your healer goes down you are going to follow them 8 times out of 10.
WAR/PLD/GNB can still salvage a bad situation.

I really feel like Oblation was meant to be something added onto The Blackest Night, until someone decided not to do that and give us current-from Oblation instead. TBN also still costs MP (meaning we can waste it, and not get our Dark Arts proc), gets ripped to shreds in 2-3 seconds meanwhile other tanks get to enjoy 8 seconds of comfort from their main mitigation, as well as having bonus defensives slapped onto it.
Dark Mind still only works for magic damage, Blood Weapon wasn't changed to a charge system while Delirium was, we still don't have Stalwart Soul until level 72, and Living Dead can be both ended early by a healer doing their job and can kill the dark knight in Walking Dead status (also I think it's bugged to where a DoT can kill LD effect rn). Also Carve & Spit can't heal us despite sharing a recast timer with Abyssal Drain and both restoring MP.
Besides buffing TBN, tying it with Oblation at the very least and reworking Living Dead, I'd go ahead and swap the level requirements of Stalwart Soul and Abyssal Drain (or Carve & Spit) so DRK has at least their 2nd AoE combo pre-70.
Forgot: can someone delete Enhanced Unmend and replace it with something good?
