Beastmaster in my humble opinion has already been confirmed through the current seasonal quest line. Primary weapon would be an auspice pet who would call beasts in and the NPC who would cover this would be none other than Godbert who owns the Gold Saucer and which would then include a Battle Arena as a new event square at the GS. I would ASK Yoshida-San to confirm or deny or will also accept if he decides to “Plead the Fifth” (yes American here, so will accept it). Based on how’d the opening quest plays, and past experience at Hell’s Lid in the Ruby Sea - hard for this to not be a huge hint to Beastmaster coming sometime in 6.x storyline. Looking forward to hearing or through a live letter, seeing Yoshida explain away this one as a mere happenstance.

As some people expressed, yes, I would say it would be good for them to work on polishing some of the more needing jobs, for sure. But the guesstimates I made were more so done on the basis of 1. What would be the next logical step in terms of roles, 2. What could fit well with the lore (puppetmaster being easily tied to mammets and a more tech savvy scenario like sharlayan/garlemald or even maybe eventually meracydia, and the whip portion just being my personal preference for it, really to make it fun and ranged with a bit of melee, and geomancer being already teased as well back in stormblood quite a bit, and being a good alternative caster.) Other than that, yeah, I'd think chemist could be an interesting next healer for later, and I actually feel mimic would be more fun and achievement-based than beastmaster, but I know people want to play pokemon in xiv badly, especially if island sanctuary is involved. LOL.

Overall, I'm trying to go less for wishful thinking with my picks, and more trying to feel what would actually throw in more diversity in gameplay and what would make sense lore-wise that we haven't seen yet.

I do agree with Oracle too as well since ying-yang magic would be interesting and thematically similar to Sage, but I would rather see chemist, to be honest. As for assassins, hunters, and the likes, I feel these jobs are a bit too obvious and won't add much to the game. I would however be curious to see something more piratey like cannoneers and such, I will say, since yeah, I felt a bit underwhelmed that rogues for instance go for a ninja route, despite understanding why.

If it were up to me I'd do something like this...

    7.0 Jobs

    Tank: Puppetmaster
I'd like to see a new tank with a different general vibe to the ones we're familiar with. The Puppetmaster's weapon of choice would be the puppet itself, rather than using it as a pet. With the animated puppet standing in front of the Puppetmaster, it creates the illusion of the puppet acting as a sort of bodyguard and would feature defensive abilities that have the puppet taking different stances to handle different types of damage. One unique--yet ambitious--concept for this job would be the ability to consume a portion of your current HP to place your puppet in the world as a temporary "pet" that takes your aggro. While in this state, you can run around freely while your melee weaponskills still eminate from the puppet, allowing you to position yourself without moving the boss or the trash enemies until you either recast the ability and heal for the puppet's remaining HP, or the puppet "breaks" and snaps back to you (returning all your aggro). To compensate, they'd need a bit of self-sustain, but you could also use this ability to eat a tankbuster for you.

I'd also consider having Krile become the NPC representative of this job and be a more prominent ally in the expansion, and it would be interesting to see her become a tank without drastically changing her aesthetic since she can wield her puppet with magic.

    Caster DPS: Onmyoji
I think it's about time we see a fresh new caster enter the game, and while I'd really love to see Blue Mage ascend to an unlimited status with a refined skillset for balancing reasons, we've now gone the longest time without seeing a caster DPS, and I think we have room to try something unique like Reaper. The Omnyoji uses paper talismans as weapons and would pick up the pieces as a dedicated Damage over Time job. Now that SMN has abandoned DoTs, and Bard's future with them looking grim, building up a new concept of a job with the ability to own that identity would I think be a well-apperciated addition to the game, and this is an idea that I think would also capture a large visual diversity in style and weapons than to the other casters we have so far.

    Beyond 7.0
Geomancer is a hot topic that's been name dropped back in Stormblood as a healer, and while I think there's room in the story to introduce a subset of Geomancers that are more offensive, I think taking advantage of the roots that we've already planted would be the better path to take. It feels like such a long time to wait for Geomancer, but we're likely not going to be getting another healer next expansion, and I can only hope we avoid another double DPS expansion just so that we can reach Geomancer within the next decade. Let's not forget that we may one day hit a point where new jobs aren't getting added, or perhaps only one will. I just hope we have room for another tank and healer or two before then.

Still waiting on them rifles to be used. They're in limsa, haukke manor, and a few other locations.

Obvious beastmaster is obvious, though perhaps a revamp of the companion system would be nicer. Allow the player to tame and/or breed a Pugil, change its colors, maybe attach armor to it, raise it, teach it new abilities, etc, and fight alongside it. Give the companions better AI, have them step out of AoEs (or do the WoW thing and give pets a 90% damage reduction for incoming AoE damage). That way the player can have their pet but can also play the class they want.

With Conjurer's earthy themed spells having been replaced by generic holy priest themed spells, we are now in need of a new earthy elemental themed class.

If they're going the smallaxe/sheild combo for BST if the Bozja content is anything to go by, then maybe it's not too far-fetched for a whip ranged DPS job.

I recall an ill-fated PS2/3 Castlevania game where the whip would stretch out quite a distance, and perhaps the whip user could use sub weapons like Holy Water, throwing axes, and some items to support the party. So it is a bit Castlevania inspired, but it would be cool.

Since is kind of given that the next 2 jobs are going to be DPSers... I'd say:

    Caster - Geomancer
    Weapon: 1h Hammer + bell
    Armor category: Casting
Specialty: Damage over time from several sources.
Niche: Slightly below BLM in selfish damage, although it brings small party utility with a small +dmg% taken debuff.

    Physical DPS - Gambler
    Weapon: Whip
    Armor category: Scouting
Specialty: medium range whip + ranged rotation moments with "Tricks and Stunts" inspired by Setzer from FF6
Niche: Analogous to NIN, meant to fill the same role. Brings utility comparable to Trick Attack, but applied to the party instead of the enemy.

I could definitely see us getting a Beastmaster class. That said, if we do I suspect it'll be a limited class. They made it pretty clear they find pet based classes rough to do with the game's engine, which is part of why Summoner and scholar had their pet elements slowly stripped away until Summoner's were completely removed and Scholar's were limited in EW. I don't think they'd do all that then turn around and have another pet job as a "true" class. And also making it a limited class opens up more room for you to go around recruiting random monsters to fight with. They wouldn't have an element like that for a "true" class since that would be harder to balance, unless the pet was purely cosmetic (which I know would make some feel like what's the point).
