    It's only appropriation if a white person does it. Seeing as the game's designed by Japanese, it doesn't count.

    Case in point; my Japanese mother-in-law (from Japan and living there) sent me (a white guy) some traditional Japanese attire to wear at a Japanese festival here in the US. The non-Japanese Asian *American* didn't catch flak for wearing theirs, but I sure did even when holding my wife's (who was decked out to the nines in a fancy kimono) hand. It truly makes me sad that these things happen in the world these days.


    The character in question's an anthropologist, does it count as CA if it's for academic research purposes?
