Are you sure you are standing in the right color lanes cause the colors aren't always the same arrangement and you might be taking extra damage. Or maybe vuln stacks from something else?

You're more than likely getting slapped by a stray yellow aoe.So I'm back at this fight as alt-job leveling content, and I'm literally still one major epiphany away from, like... "getting" one, JUST ONE mechanic that constantly kills me except the times that "I don't know how I lived but I still don't get it" kinda RNG happens.
Now that I can look outside the tunnel of spoilers (not that I intend to spoil anything here but like, I was WAAAY sequestered when I started this thread, youtube locked down, the whole deal), and so not in a hurry, I can take the time to use the names of the mechanics to talk about what I'm having trouble with:
It's the final and "repeat until dead" incarnation of Aetherial disruption.
-I know to go the opposite color/symbol of what shows up in the middle of the screen.
-I know to make room for knockback when it gets added, so as to not get DoT'ed at the edge, AND to make sure I only travel within the proper color.
-I know to observe the spread effect that messes severely with the anti-knockback placement
I do all of this, and after the spread meteor hits, a SECOND meteor is the thing that kills me. Always. When I die it's always this second hit. I look for tells outside the arena, I don't see them like I do in the "crumbling sky" phase, but every single guide says there's another version of crumbling sky that happens in this final mutation of aetherial disruption... I just can't see the tells, and so I run the boss until RNG doesn't drop that second hit on me. That's the only way I win.
What are the tells? I've completed this place a grand total of twice and always after at least 5 pulls. It was 20ish my first time. I've literally timed this dungeon out on this boss. It's this ONE thing. I'm one "epiphany" away from being able to rely on completing this dungeon, but I haven't crossed that line yet and it's frustrating as hell!

I'm almost certain it's the DoT from the edge. When that doesn't clip me I do better, but it doesn't help that trusts (the only way I'll dungeon-level 71+) are TERRIBLE at the spread mechanic here.

Don't trusts always go to the same locations? Also I found that moving as close to the center inside his hitbox for the knockback helps avoid the dot from the edge.
So it sounds like you are describing the second phase being your problem where rocks fall from the sky. For this just watch the boss. He literally spawns the rocks to throw at you, just watch for where they aren't going to fall. In addition to this, there will be ground AOEs you have to dodge at the same time. Keep an eye on the ground and the sky and you'll be fine.

The rocks in the sky part is different from the phase I'm having problems with. It's the final mutation of the aetherial disruption, where the lanes, knockback and spread markers all happen at once.So it sounds like you are describing the second phase being your problem where rocks fall from the sky. That basically is noting which columns are going to burst and then making sure the knockback pushes you to the other color while also making sure you aren't too close to your other party members

The trick to avoid getting knocked back into the wall of death around the outside of the arena is to get as close to the center of the knockback marker as possible. Remember you CAN overlap the yellow spread AOE's at this point because they don't hit until after the knockback happens. So it goes knockback > colored lanes explode > spread AOE. You have a split second to spread a bit more after the lane explosion if you are still overlapping your Trust AOE.

I HAVE HAD THE EPIPHANY!
It's the timing! I know there are a LOT of mechanics the higher you go where it looks like "there's nowhere that isn't orange," but it's about the order of explosions. This is one of those! It finally hit me that there's a significant delay between when the spread mechanic starts its tell, the knockback goes off, then you have seconds to execute the spread! I was often getting DOT'ed because I felt I couldn't go right into the center because "it says spread, I have to spread," but you don't until AFTER the knockback! It's a thin window but so is every overlapping mechanic, this is just a different version of it! It's the timing, that's the key!

Stand opposite the glowy screen color.
